raise the front seats?

I'm 6'2" and feel like I'm sitting in a hole in my '07 se titan. A passenger made the same comment. Any way to raise the seats? I'm pretty much low brow, so if it takes a wood block under the mounts...I'm not above it!
thanks fellas

Re: raise the front seats?

I would not recommend wood.
You want to be at least as wide as the seat bracket.
Use either a solid spacer or stack flat washers.
Leave at least 1 thread exposed.
For insurance, use blue Loctite.

Re: raise the front seats?

I have had your problem but with different circumstances, i'm only 5' 6" and had to raise the bench seat in my old truck. I bought a piece of 1" solid square aluminum bar stock and just drilled holes in them and painted black to match the carpet, washers work just not as pretty. You may need longer bolts as well just make sure to get the right hardness to avoid problems in an accident

Re: raise the front seats?

I needed to do this on the front of the passenger's side, as in it's stock position it felt like you were on a slide. I used washers and bought a couple of longer, Grade 8 bolts to secure it. Since I did the front only, it took some "convincing" to get all four seat bolts back in place. I don't like the space it left between the plastic "skirts" on the side to the carpet, but it's much more comfortable to sit in now.

Re: raise the front seats?

Get a solid spacer about 1" long and put it underneath where the cushion mounts to the frame on the front side and get a long bolt to compensate. I did it on mine and it works great. If it's not enough, then you might want to look at lifting the frame where it attaches to the floor.
