Adding Power locks to a XE

Looking for some help

Got my bed cover and remote starter/Alarm combo installed everything works apart from having to give a extra heavy hand to close the tailgate possibly due too the -26 outside just now.

Anyway they couldn't install my power locks because i have cables instead of rod's

So now trying to figure out what I need to install the the power locks and how do I hook them up too the remote/alarm combo they have installed so i only have 1 key fob instead of 2

Autostart

I was looking at this kit http://www.a1electric.com/Merchant2/...duct_Code=W01C

But don't know if i need anything else to make it work with the AutoStart unit

Re: Adding Power locks to a XE

I had power windows, door locks and remote entry (key fob) installed all at the same time.

Sorry I dont know the particulars because I paid to have mine done before I picked it up new. Mine was in the shop for an extra day because the first kit they received was for rods, not cables....I would try another shop...

Re: Adding Power locks to a XE

You have two options
Get the OEM actuator (look for Sethman408's thread, he added them to his XE)
or you can get aftermarket actuator (make sure they are the kit for cable system).
As long as your remote stater/alarm has outputs for doors lock/unlock it can be incorporated.

aftermarket actuators for cable system suck bad and are a pain to install. go OEM. theyre a little more expensive. but, well worth it.
