Window issues...

My LR window doesn't want to close entirely, it goes most of the way up, and then runs out of gusto with about 1.5-2" left open. With a little assistance it will fully close.

The two rear ones have always been super slow closing (I've read this is common issue) but this one now just creeps along and then slowly peters out before it's fully closed.

What kind of fix is there for this? New motor? Can I spray anything on the track to make it run smoother?

Just another problem to add to the long list of them I've had with this truck. urghhhhh And not even 60k on the beast yet.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Window issues...

I hate the slow windows, it's like Nissan used wimpy motors for the rear windows.
It might need an adjustment if that can be done?? You could try some clear silicone lube on the window track (maybe) and some good lithium grease in the hidden door track. I hope it isn't the motor going bad.

Re: Window issues...

im having the same problem with my passenger side, ive been told by several people on here that a lot of times just taking everything loose and cleaning and oiling it will help, when my truck was in the body shop the guy rolled down the driver side and couldnt get it back up so he said and i quote, "i took the motor out and beat on it with a wrench" has worked perfectly ever since...

Re: Window issues...

There's a dry silicone spray made by Zip for this exact problem. I have used it for years. One can will last you 10 years. Just a light spray in the window channels and its back to normal.

I just ran a search for it and can't find it now. But any dry silicone spray should work.

Is there a difference between silicone spray lube, and dry silicone spray lube?

yes, dry leaves no oily residue behind.

Re: Window issues...

i'm wondering if the inside of your door is corroded...

i notice that when i open my doors after a lot of moist weather sometimes water will drip out the weep holes for a minute or so.

i try to keep it as clean as possible....

oddly, my windows work great. i open and close them a lot as I'm not a huge fan on conditioned air.

Re: Window issues...

I've never had any moisture drain out that I've noticed. I do often take off the rubber strips along the bottom and clean in/around the drain holes though.

Re: Window issues...

Think this could be the problem??? Anyone know if I can buy just the cables? The motor itself is running fine, both directions, like brand new. What a PITA to get my big clubby hands inside that door!

I'd say it's a good bet!

I'll give it a shot with my small girly hands
