Lift Kits for the Titan

March 2004 Four Wheeler magazine has a write up on lift kits for the new F150 and Titan.

I am very interested in the Daystar Comfort Ride Suspension Lift Kit, it lifts the front end 2.5" to level the truck. That is one of the things I don't like about my Titan, the front being lower than the rear. I think it looks like a two wheel drive.

Anyone have any experience with this kit or type of lift kit?

I spoke with Rancho yesterday and they are coming out with an adjustable coil over spring setup, 2-3 inches of lift, available sept-oct 2004, around $700.

Also I contacted sway-away suspensions, who is based in ca, and already have adjustable coil over spring suspension for many vehicles (tundra, tacoma, ford,dodge, etc), and they said they would talk to R&D about making one for the Titan, Since they can use already design suspension and replace top mounting brackets only for different applications, they told me to contact them in 2 weeks for an update.

Everyone recommends sway a away because of the slightly stiifer ride than stock ride.

Go to the pic posts and look at "Ok, back off". I have some shots of my SE CC 4X2 with the Daystar level kit. I have heard quite a bit of issues with this kit on 4X4 models. But it is great on my truck and I am pleased with the results. When more options become available I will for sure check them out.

I saw a crew cab 2wd at a nissan dealer with the daystar 2 inch lift and had 33/12.50/r16 tires and wheels, the 33's i thought it didnt look right, not enough space on the wheel wells, the perfect set up would be the daystar lift and 31/10.50/r16 w/ 16 x 8 wheels, because the stock tires that come w/ the titan r, 245/75/17 (well that tire measures 31.8 inches in diameter, but only 8.4 in width...if u put the 31/10.5/r16 w/ 16x8 wheels you will have the same size tire but have a wider stance. it will look beefy but proportioned.

When I first read this post, I thought..yea...the Titan would look better "evened' out. Then I thought..humm...as it is from the factory, if I put a trailer on it, the *** end will even out. If you have the front already leveled, then throw a trailer on it...the rear will sag. I guess it would look nice if you never towed much, or not a heavy load.

Since I tow very little I would rather it look level the majority of the time. But your point is well taken. It will look like a Chevy when towing.....Butt Dragg'in

Calmini has informed me that they will produce a lift kit for the Titan. Below is an excerpt from the emailings:

well ive been talking to alot of 4x4 companies as well as nissan,
i just bought the daystar kit and spoke with all of these manuf, nissan will not provide the aftermarket stores as well as alignment shops with the alignment specs for another 3 months,FYI, i guess i have to wait. I just bought BFG 265/70/17 on centerline 17X8 wheels, i cant wait to put them on w/ the daystar kit.

For my money if you want to go up, CST is the only company to call, from level kits, to 7/8 inch lifts, and Long Travel

Yes, we are currently working on a 6" kit for the 4wd Titan. Check out the Troy Lee Design Titan on the SEMA website it has our prototype kit on it that should be released later this year. Thank you for you're interest in Fabtech.

Calmini makes good stuff. I've used their kits on my XTerra, and they were helpfull and the stuff just plain works. Titan is going to be pretty easy to lift, once Nissan releases the specs for alignment. Looks to me like the Rancho 2-3 front kit, (coil-over adjustable!) and then surely someone will have an Add-A-Leaf or a block kit for the rear end. That way we can keep the rake front to rear, and keep from a$$ draging around when there is a load on.

hey guys i just got my titan back from the shop,
they installed the daystar 2 1/2 inch kit for the front, it rides perfect!!!
remember the stock ride kinda soft, well the daystar makes the ride a little stiffer than normal, and height is pefect....I have installed 265x70r17 on 17x8 centerline wheels, which is 32 inch tires, it looks awesome!
all im waiting for is my pre-ordered gaylord tonneau cover and mytitan will be complete.
oh by the way, whoever posted the OEM alignment specs, Thanks!! I will buy u a beer at the laughlin run

Whats the pros and cons of a 1" rear block or a 1.5" ad a leaf.

It seams to me the 1" rear block would actually raise the truck more than an ad a leaf but the ad a leaf I am looking at advertises at 1.5
