How do I remove the Manual window crank so I can take the door panel off. I have ran a search but couldnt find out exactly how to do this? Any help from someone who has done this on an XE titan would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Ok figured out how to get the manual crank off, removed the little pin holding it on with a paper clip. Took the panels off and no wires? I looked under the Dashboard thinking maybe they just wernt pulled through, but I dont see anything that looks like it would plug into the switches and motor.
I was told that all Titans have the same wiring harnes? It was cheaper for Nissan to have just 1 wring harness.
I found and bought some used factory door lock switches for the drivers and pasenger side, as well as some used/working power window regulators and motors for the Drivers R & Pasengers L side.
Sorry, good luck on that one. The switches communicate digitally with the BCM. you would have to get the BCM from a truck equipped with the windows. I would suggest buying after market switches and wiring the factory regulators to them.
bcm and door wiring harness are required, and you still may have a problem. I am not sure if the dash harness is the same or not. Someone steering you wrong. The XE is the step-child and doesn't have all the same wiring as all the other versions. Also if you have a XE KC, the foglight wiring is not there either.
When I started this I was told that the Wiring was all the same, obviously that isnt the case. I found great deals on the parts I have right now.
Drivers and passenger side factory switches $75
LH Power window Regulator & Motor $65
RH Power window Regulator & motor $55
Im already about $200 into it, so Im asking myself where do I go from here?
If I can end up under $400 with the wiring and BCM That still saves me $200-$300 from what the dealer is asking.
There is a Nissan dealership by me that can get me the wiring harness's I need for $44 each side.
Im going to call and ask about the BCM for an SE.
So I guess Im pretty motivated to get the factory power windows and switches working.
Getting the Harness's and BCM should do it right? Anything else you guys can think of?

Your right Fog light Harness isnt there I checked. The SE BCM should fix this if I get the fog light harness right? The dash harness is the same I checked with Nissan, just not the door harness.
Yep.. only the XE CC Titans come with power windows/locks. Sucks you got the KC. ..well KC in the XE model lol this does pose a problem.
However, I don't understand why some of these guys say you need a BCM. I personally don't think you do. It's very simple. The power windows need, well, power. I assume 12 volts (double check this). You need to find the wires of which the factory switches take in power, and which ones don't. Usually red/black. Wire from the ignition power sorce (wherever you can find one, probably fuse box) and wire in the switches. Then your motors which make window go up/down need power. So you need to find which wires connect into the motor (if you don't have a harness which I assume you do) I would get a volt meter if I were you to pin-point which wires accept current and whcih ones dont.
I would also take a 12volt source and try the window motor/switches BEFORE installing in the truck.
Now some issues: 1, if you have keyless, the press and hold unlock to roll windows down won't work. 2, your dirver side switch won't control your passanger window, UNLESS you run wire from the passanger swich, under the dash, to the motor in the passanger door. That could be a pain, just running all that wire. 3, seems like a lot of work. You should have thought of all this before buying the truck. And bought a truck already with power windows.
I just couldnt pass up on this truck. Trying to find a Titan under 10K was very hard. I found this 2005 Titan XE in the color I wanted, 85k miles, clear title/carfax, 6 disc changer, overhead storage, sliding rear, painted rear bumper to match the paint, bed liner, Chrome 18" Factory upgraded rims, cruse control, body was in good condition for the mileage, 2" lift int he front, sits like a 4x4, and all for just $7900. Paid cash so no car payments. It had a lot of positives and the only negatives was no power windows or door locks. All the SE's I saw were close to 11k. Its a 3rd vehicle for us, drive it mainly on the weekends for the patio furniture and home depot trips, thats about it. So I figured what the heck I can install the power windows and door locks and still come out on top. Plus I enjoy being able to mess around with this toy Gives me something to do on the weekends.
Adam, Im glad you pointed that out, I was thinking the same thing with the BCM. Dont really know why the BCM would affect anything...

What do I do from here?
Help?!
the wireing harness isnt the same it changes in all the models. their the same every year it only depends if it a KC OR CC OR ect...
xes dont have a chip unless you have the preferred package. shopuld have used a spal kit and aftermarket switches. i installed them back in 06 and still no problems. spal kit, door locks, switches and alarm cost me about $200. all with a discount from my local audio dealer.
Thanks for the suggestions on going with universal kits , I understand a universal kit would be cheaper. However I want to and am trying to insall the factory parts. Not universal Kits.
I understand the XE doesnt have the key chip. I am switching out the BCM for an 05 LE BCM. And thinking of some of the other set backs that might happen. Like me now having to get a key made with a chip becase I am switching the BCM's.
I was wondering if anyone knew If the key chip goes through the BCM or the ECU?
Im thnking the ECU since the ignition has to do with the engine and not the body. Could be wrong.... Anyone.....?
chip funtions work through the bcm and communicate with the ecu, locks and etc. it is a part of the vss and vis. I hope this works for you. I haven't looked yet but I don't think the LE bcm is going to work...I hope you prove it does.
