Yeah, I think getting rid of the smell is only part of the problem. You need to figure out where the moisture is coming from otherwise, you're in a losing battle.
The AC drain plug was a common problem and easy fix.
Good luck!

I too have the same problem every year. Unfortantly today suppost to be mid 70s low 80s and mid 80s tomorrow. So A/C is in my forcast. So what I do for about a week is I turn the A/C on, all the windows down and it naturally does its thing. After a week or so, smell is gone, and windows go back up.
We're telling you, it's the A/C system. ..yours just may be worse off than others. Try it and get back to us
Well i pulled back the carpet on the drivers and passenger side and the insulation was damp, which led me to using the dehumidifer. I actually stuck a leaf blower in between the carpet and let it go for a while. As far as the AC problem, there was no water standing in the floorboard, and when I first bought the vehicle I took it to the nissan dealer with a gas gauge issue and there was a note on the invoice that said "condenser check OK". Is this the common AC problem? I'm not sure. I think the first dealer used a powerwasher to clean the front carpets. The backseat insulation is not wet.
TN Titan, check out the link below regarding the AC drain issue. You're probably going to have to remove the carpet and give it a really thorough cleaning to get rid of the mold smell. If it's still under the 3/36 warranty take it to the dealer and let them replace the carpet and padding...
Update. There was no water standing in passenger floorboard. The drivers side insulation was equally damp. Idiot from the rinky dink dealer probably powerwashed the front floorboards. I bought 2 yards of insulation, pulled my front seats out, pulled the old insulation out, put a fan on it for a while, sprayed the floorboard with clearcoat spraypaint to kill the odor, cut the new insulation and put the titan back together. Now I wait... The old padding smelled horrible, it had to have been the problem. I checked the rest of the padding in the rear and it was dry...pray for me.
Smell is gone. Smell of 3M adhesive lingers, but better than musty ***. The cheap way ended up being the most effective way. It was just a little labor intensive.
I got the smell you describe and it is coming from inside the door panels and the smell is worse in the summer and when the windows are first rolled down...No damp or wet carpet or nasty vent smell in my truck...
I have posted this many times and no one else seems to have the same issue or they are scared to let the windows down and smell the groove where the window goes into the door..

Try that..
I am for real!
I puked out of my truck window and some got in there... marinated and smelled like death.
Smell is gone now...
You might want to try spraying some lysol in there...

Well its been 4 months and now the water is back. I should have listened and took it to the dealer. It was the AC drain. They fixed it per TSB and are replacing all the carpet.
