Grinding Sound under dash

In the last 2 days I have noticed that every time I start my T, there is a grinding sound that comes out from under the dash. It reminds me of when my dad's 78 ford starting to lose speedometer cable and it was banging around behind the gauges.

I am wondering if it might be something with the power adjusted pedals or something.

This is on an 04 SE KC 4x4. Does anyone else have or had this?

Re: Grinding Sound under dash

I used to have this happen all the time. Now it just makes that noise after my truck has been turned off for a little bit.

same thing happens on my truck i think its somthing to do with the air vents.......... like theres a motor to something that cuts the air off to diff vents or somthing???? maybe? lol and do you have the dual air controls?

It is the air conditioning. Nothing to worry about. If you sit in your truck for a couple minutes after you shut it off you will hear all kinds of goofy noises. It happens on start up too sometimes.

Re: Grinding Sound under dash

I've noticed in my 05 it happens any time I change the vent from the defrost setting over to where it blows out at your face. If I leave it on where it blows out on your face it won't make the noise after you shut it off.
