Hey guys,
I tried researching this, but I haven't seen anything on the topic.
I have the graphite interior on my LE, and the dash color throws up an awful glare on the windshield. It's bad enough that I see the contours from the gauge cover and the center tray area.
It really bothers my eyes to have to drive with the glare, so I'm trying to figure out something to do about it.
I can only come up with a dark color dash mat, but damn I think those things are the tackiest things ever made. But, if I have to I have to. BTW, tinting is out of the question.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I seriously have never really looked "at" the inside of the windshield... I usually look through it... As sensitive as my eyes are after the Lasik, I'm surprised I've never noticed a bit of glare....
I'd say, just cover it in shag carpet and call it good!
I had lasiks as well, so i feel you on the sesitivity..
BLBJ do you smoke? you may need to clean the inside of the windshield.. my dash is textured, i havent noticed a glare. I have the grey interior as well. now i will notice it and it will drive me crazy as well... thanks..
only thing i can think of is the dash covers. i have seen some that arent as gawdy as others though.
Another option that had a side effect is having heat barrier film installed on the inside of the windshield.
It's a bit darker than OEM but also cuts down glare as well as its original purpose to prevent heat from baking the inside of the truck beyond the outside temperture.

Don't use Armor All on the dash. That will set up a glare for sure. I use a very mild cleaner or just a damp cloth on the dash and Stoner's Invisible Glass on the windshield.

Yeah, it's not so much the dash itself, but the curved lines around the center of the dash (top of radio housing), as well as the curves in the dash above the instrument panel (does this make sense?).
They just really stick out to me and I can see it in the windshield when the sun is just right. Well, actually, only when the sun is just right can I NOT see them. The rest of the time it just drives me nuts.
Seriously, no one has ever noticed this before besides me? Maybe it is just me. We trolls can be a weird sort.
If I do need a dash cover, what do they have out there that won't make my truck look like a 70s shag mobile? Preferably something not made of carpet, but that won't throw a glare.

If it's the housing for the radio, I'm imagining that a good rattle can job using textured paint will stop it.

I agree with this.... 303 or any non-greasey product will give it a nice matte finish without a lot of shine.
Polarized shades also help with the glare....
