Re: Fire Extinguisher Inside

I did same, except I mounted it to the hump right behind, just pushes it tighter to the seat. I have a 2 D Cell Mag Light in front of the Passenger Seat in similar fashion.

Re: Fire Extinguisher Inside

I have a slightly larger fire extinguisher that I keep in the underseat storage bin. I have had to use a fire extinguisher to put out an engine fire (not in my car though) so I know first hand how well they come in handy. I tried mounting it to the Utilitrak side rails using QuickFist clamps but could never get it good enough to trust it. So the fire extinguisher sits in the storage bin.

I'm more interested in the money in your door. Can I have it?

Re: Fire Extinguisher Inside

great idea...... after messing with some wiring in the truck I think it's a safe bet to keep one of these in the cab.

i was just thinking about doing this the other day.... although with such a small unit (that's what she said) you better hope for a small fire.

A small unit's better than no unit.

Not where I'd mount it, but good idea none the less.

Re: Fire Extinguisher Inside

Anybody have any other ideas on location mounts? I'm not a big fan of that one.

Under the rear seat if no Tech12volt box there! Room for a 3A40BC if you like.

Re: Fire Extinguisher Inside

On the floor, it is less likely to become a projectile or hard surface for secondary impact in an accident. Close to the seat, it does not interfere with entry. It must be very secure. A metal bracket is far preferable to a plastic strap.

Re: Fire Extinguisher Inside

If you have a bed cover, you can mount it in the bed. I attached mine to the underside of my bed extender bracket, which leaves it right by the tailgate for easy access.

If my truck is on fire, I don't want to stay in the cab trying to get the extinguisher.

Re: Fire Extinguisher Inside

I have a Tech box and no room behind my rear seat and no room underneath my driver or passenger front seats. Any other options?
