"Leather" Arm Rest Cracking

I've got an '04 LE with captain seats, and the driver's side arm rest looks like a spider web. Nissan wants something like $175 for a new arm rest. I've tried internet junk yards, asking seat cover manufacturers if they sell just arm rest covers, with no luck. Has anyone else dealt with this? Let me know if you have any ideas. I can't bring myself to spend $175 knowing that its just going to crack again. Thanks for any help.

My driverseat armrest has cracked too... (04 Leather 91,000 miles) I haven't done anything about it yet.. I noticed before it cracked that the leather (not the foam under it) where my arm usually rests is harder than the remaining leather on the armrest... I had an idea to swap the passenger and driver arm rests, and flip them (have to to bolt them back on). But haven't tried it yet.....I'm on vacation all week with no travel plans...so I might attempt it this week.

Re: "Leather" Arm Rest Cracking

The only parts that are leather on our trucks is the steering wheel, door peices and seating center surface. The rest is pleather. "Leather seating surface" as nissan would advertise
