Infinity Lid Mod

I want to install the QX56 center console lid and replace the beat up tray lid. I ordered the part from InfinityPartsUSA.com (Infinity of Scottsdale) using the part number given in the other threads (96920-7s614). In their online catalog it said the color was graphite.

What i got a week later is a light gray cover. I called the dealership and after a back and forth of having them recheck their catalog, the parts guy said the part i have is in fact graphite and its the darkest Infinity has. I told him that's not true since i know many of you have done this mod and have the correct matched lid.

Any thoughts on how i can go about getting the correct lid? I'm sending this one back.

Attached is what the lid they sent me looks like. This is the thread i was referencing: Infinity console lid help?

Re: Infinity Lid Mod

I didn't know they made one in a light gray like that! That's what I need in mine, and NOT the graphite, dark gray one. What was that part number???

Re: Infinity Lid Mod

According to the parts guy, the part number that everyone around here is using (96920-7S614) will also get you the light gray one... i don't know...

If you'd like, i can ship you this one that i have instead of sending it back. That way you know you get gray, not charcoal. I paid $113.67 after shipping.

Beware though, i've read that the Infinity gray does not match the nissan gray so you may get this and it's a few shades off....

Back to my question, anyone know how i can get Charcoal/Graphite?

Re: Infinity Lid Mod

I like the look of that. But they way my truck gets used I dont think it would look pretty very long... Great price too

Dude... My truck is more sterile than a friggin operating room...

That pic was taken mid-install at tech12volts' place... the pollen was unbelievable at that time... Check it.....

The tail is partially clean due to the rain... The heavy pollened area was under the roof of the shed...

Oh, and if you think it stayed that way, check it out at OT that weekend:

Re: Infinity Lid Mod

I'm kind of agreeing with BB, in that the more I look at the OP's pic, it looks like a non-gray color. More like that wheat color he mentions.

Re: Infinity Lid Mod

Thanks for the info BB. I'll have to order the lid from the place you suggested and hope i get the correct color.

The lid i currently have is definetely not white. The picture i originally took makes it look white for some reason... Attached is a better picture, comparing it to a sheet of white printer paper.

Re: Infinity Lid Mod

It's the lighting. The dealer send i could send it back and they'd give me a full refund and waive the 20% restocking fee. I have to pay shipping back though. Shouldn't be much.

I'll just send it back.
