So I have nasty streaks on my window tint on both driver and passenger side. I called the Stealership up here in Cheyenne and they say that if it is from factory it should be covered in my 5 year interior warrenty.
I talk to a local tint guy and he said it was because of the velvet/fuzzy strip that "clear's" the window when it goes down.
I am taking in to the shop tomorrow to see if that is true. I will let you know how it goes.

If your weather strip on the windows plastic or a soft velvet felt type material?
If its plastic its most likely scratches from it
Velvet was the word I was looking for. the interior warrenty should cover it the guy said, as long as the tint was stock.

the rear windows shouldn't scratch, the tint isn't a film it's colored glass... do you live in a dusty area? if so and the scraper seal is dirty hanging onto sand and scratching the glass hopefully they will but probably won't cover it by warranty.
I've enver heard of a T coming from the factory with the fronts tinted. if the dealer did it and did apply velvet to the scraper seals if you didn't have it from the factory and it scratched under normal wear and tear, and isn't dirty they should help you out. At very least a deal on re-tinting.
you may be able to rub the scratches out of the film with some plasticX or another plastic polish/headlight restorer.
i have the same issue i live in the az dusty area. ive had the issue since about 8k on the odometer. never got an answer from the dealer

I have the same issue on my 06 and it has done it since i picked it up new. The dealer had installed tint on my front windows and the king cab windows have the dark privacy glass. But yeah my driver side has like 3 sections getting thin vertical scratches from about the top edge to the about a 1/4 of the way down from putting the window down to get to the ATM. The dealer gave some story about it being wear and tear. Pure BS of course. I took the door panel off and took the stripping pieces off and cleaned them along with taking a crescent wrench and pinching the doors top inner pinch seams where one of the inner strips mounts and slightly bent them away from the inner glass so they dont have too much pressure on the glass. It fixed some of them but i see a section i missed, that i need to go back and fix. I had the windows re-tinted and then saw the scratches coming back in the top 1/4 and not the whole length of the window. now i have to get them re-tinted again. Im told by the tint shops they have some kind of mole skin type stuff they can put on it to fix the issue but its like $35. i will go to Wal Mart and buy some from the foot area near the pharmacy and buy some for less if thats the case. LOL Anyway that what i have found out from my exp.

if you tint your windows, fronts or rears you NEED the FELT strip or you windows will (or might not) streak. felt usually runs $20 extra per window because they have to pull the door panel slightly open to install the felt.

It's not bs if you don't have moleskin or felt on your scraper seals and don't keep it clean the film will scratch. 35.00 is a little high but I paid the extra 20 like fonzy mentionied.

I think the 08 models started coming with a felt strip from factory, atleast mine did

Welp took it to the stealership and they said it was just that seal getting dusty, so they WILL NOT cover it. So I am either going to have to live with it, or talk to someone about getting some new tint.
If I get tint, I will be opting for the velvet strip if they offer it.
Thanks all for the imput.

LOL what i was saying thats BS is that the dealer wouldnt fix it even though i pointed it out to them 3 weeks later when i had to stop in to get a piece that was missing frominside my truck. My truck has the felt piece inside. Has one plastic piece attached to the actual door panel and the felt strip piece along the seam section where the inner door edge is next to the glass. Anyway, i really could find anything on the felt but the piece were really tight against the glass. The inside of my truck pretty clean and still looks brand new. Gets washed and wiped down on the inside almost every week or so since i bought it. I dont drive with the windows down either to keep dirt and dust out of it. But i know what you guys are saying.
Yeah a few of the tint shops down here near Houston told me $35 ea door for the mole skin / felt and the other told me $65ea plus the cost of tinting!! LOL Sheesh.
Thanks Fonzerelli, I gotcha bud. My felt was compressed from it being so tight against the glass. Dealership installed the tint before i purchase the truck, would have thought they would have made sure it was all good to go before selling it.

I've been thinking about getting my ft window's tinted, but i already get those vertical streak's in both my window's from them just going up & down. Look's lik i'll be taking the door panel's off & adding some felt strip's before i go & spend the money for tint. Just to have it get all scratched up within the 1st couple months.
