I don't know what they use but I know at the truck accessory place I went to they have a "special" chemical to remove it and ensure it doesn't do any "damage". I'm sure it's actually nothing to special in reality likely something off the shelf but they wouldn't tell me what it was (I'm sure a member here will know though, lots of knowledgeable folks around)
Cheers,
Calvin
Thanks, I've never really tried to get it off, I just know when I do I want it to come off and not have any problems.
I have the AVS in channel, smoke color, very happy with the choice, looks better than the stick on; cleaner look. Sometimes the auto up doesn't work, ie it gets to the top and the squeeze from the visor will make them retract, didn't do it for long,
i have the wade in-channel for almost 3yrs now and still no problem

I went ahead and called my local place that put on my stick ons and they said they'd replace them with the in-channel but I have to buy them at their cost ($119 cdn they tell me). I really am not happy with the stick on's I have now so I asked them to order in a set and hopefully I'll have them switched out next week (they had better swallow the removal and install which I'm sure they will but I have to talk to the manager next week when he is back from vacation). They only carry Putco (think I spelled that right) so hopefully that brand works out well for me (seemed to be ok from this forum's response so far)
I've had my set of Putcos on my T for the past 4-5 months without any problems. They look awsome man. They were a little tricky installing the front ones, because of the bend towards the front of the window. I'm confident you will like them.

I first had a set of Wade In-channel on BB... they were good.
Now I have the Weathertechs on her. She likes these much better...
The Wades are a quality unit, make no mistake, and I liked them. I did have the occasional "window down" feature occur with them.. They are thinner material than the Weathertech, and a bit more flexible, but less well formed, I believe. Not that they're bad by any stretch of the imagination. But with the Weathertechs on there, I can honestly say that I have NEVER had the "window down" feature happen... Not even once.
Now, I might add that I had the Wades on for close to two years and the problem was recurring. It didn't only do it at first. It did it just every once in a while through the whole time I had them on there... It's been 1.5 years with the Weathertechs with nary a glitch.... I HIGHLY recommend the quality and design of the Weathertechs. I'll go nowhere else for them from now on for my vehicles.
the set i ordered a couple of years ago appeared to be stick on. when they arrived they had tape installed but fit and looked/worked better as in channel after i removed the tape. don't remember the brand.
