XE wanting to remove Nav panel for rardar

Im trying to figure out how to remove just the semi-circlular panel where the NAV should go. I've mounted my radar detector there but want to drill a small hole for the power cord to go straight down into the dash. any ideas? I've gotten the front panel off but cant get the top pieces off. Is the top one whole piece?

The whole outer piece (with the vents) comes off. If memory is correct it is just clips holding it on as well. The semi circular piece is melted into the outer panel.

I'd personally mount the detector higher.. I used the suction cup window mout for my Bel RX65.. mounted right below the tint... Easy to take off when I'm parked, and hard to see from the cops point of view.
