I have a 34 ft motor home.... but I also have 4 kids... a lot of camper sites have very small plots that only have room for the camper and parking for your 1 tow vehicle. they charge you if you try to put up a tent on their property so the bed tent usually gives us extra room if someone else comes along... and we usually get away with not being charged... works pretty well and the kids thing it is totally cool.

that and when it rains the bed drains better than the ground sometimes... just make sure you park with the bed slightly downhill so you have good drainage

Been there, Great park. Alot of coons roam around at night. Perfect for telling scary stories by a camp fire and watching the kids scream when they hear them behind them. St. Augustien is the most interesting city in Fl for me. More history there than any other city in america! Dont forget the fan and watch the sand fleas at the beach. Forget about the walk to the quarries not worth the hike. Just a big weed hole in the ground and not kept up. George Street is the best. And the Fort of course. Make sure you watch the cannons go off between noon and 2 everyday

oh yeah and it goes from the bed floor to just above the roof of truck so you can't stand inside but is still pretty comfortable, you don't feel squeezed in.

there is no direct access to the power outlet, but it can be easily brought around to front, all in all a good setup IMO.
big P if you ever want to sell that tent hit me up ok ???

Re: Bed tent

I camp all the time at least every other weekend and I thought about getting one just to have an extra tent. When I go with my friends they never have anything. I love to sleep outside so I end up in the back of the truck and they take my tent. when I have a chick with me we sleep in the back there is plenty of room to roll around. If you want real comfort a queen size bed fits perfectly in the back of the truck. I have not done it yet but when I was moving I had the thought. when I am camping I get wood with my truck and use the tailgate for preparing food then sleep in it at night. I dont think that the tent would be that great because you would have to take it down if you want to go anywhere.

Re: Bed tent

interesting thread here. my girl was actually the one most interested in the bed tent, generally when we get to the camp site we stay there for the duration and bomb around on my atv... typically some one else will have a vehicle if errands are required.

the nicest thing is my buddies pop up camper that sometimes we get to sleep in, that makes it really easy for me.

i'm on the fence about the bed tent, but after seeing some other things that are available i might go with one of those safari type set ups, with the canvas side and rack on top... who knows what i'll end up with, maybe a pop- up

Re: Bed tent

I just bought an 05 Titan and am also in the market for a tent.

Id rather put the tent on the ground then in the back of the truck so i can drive the truck around...but would like to be able to set up in the bed of the truck if needed.

Does anyone know if its possible to used this tent on the ground instead of the bed?
