Anyone have or are contemplating buying the bed tent advertised to fit the Titan bed. After checking into campers that fit $$$$, I figure I got a few more years of tent camping left in me
hey radio, i bought the tent for my crew cab, i actually haven't got a chance to use it yet but i set it up just to check. it is a decent tent, fit is pretty good, setup isn't too bad. it is actually pretty big inside and includes an awning which sticks out a few feet past the tailgate for some shade. i wouldn't reccomend it to replace a tent for regular camping, but is good for camping at a non campsite type place.

I camp out of the back of my XE-V6 4x4 Hardbody when I go to the races. Right now I have a fiberglass cap and it works great, however, the Titan is not going to get a cap, so I have been wondering about this same subject.
As I understand it the "tents" are to be used when the truck sits still. I need something I can pack my gear in and drive to the track in the rain with out it all getting completely soaked.
As of now here is what I'm thinking. The price for a full size truck and a short bed is $599, and no, I did not see a Titan listed yet.

I've got the Sportz Tent II in Camo w/canopy. Item nr 52022 for
a Full Size short bed KC. Cost $169.99 This is the same tent sold
by Nissan as an accessory for an inflated price. Check out: www.central4wd.com and search for Napier.

Inflated? If you're thinking MSRP ($199.99), then yes, I agree. However, I bought my tent (King Cab) from Jamie at titanparts247.com for $169.15.
We've used it once, at Anastasia State Park (St. Augustine, FL) on our way down to visit a friend in the Keys. We'll be using it again on the way back. I've been away from the camping scene for many moons, but the tent seems well constructed and fits perfectly - even working around my Truxedo cover frame/rails without much difficulty.
It also has a handy velcro'ed flap that allows access to the power outlet in the bed - very handy since we were running a Kooleraire that night to keep the temp manageable inside the tent. (I know, hardly "roughing it", but the older I get, the less tolerance I have for 90deg/90%hum weather. )
When I get back from the trip, I'll post some pictures of the setup in the truck if anyone's interested. (Should be back on Sunday.)
Does the tent wall extend down into the bed? And if so does it stop there or does it completely line the bed and sides. Is there enough room between the wheel wells for two to roll around. I'm thinking a nice foam bed or futon would take care of the mattress part and having access to the power port is a +. I guess the bed lite is pretty much inaccessible for there though. Yes I saw the difference in price at central 4wd which is in the neighborhood sort of and if you got the wrong price on your website you should fix that.
the tent extends from sidewall to sidewall, and to about the end of the tailgate with it down (on crew cab), and i can fit my queen size air mattress inside pretty comfortably.
oh yeah and it goes from the bed floor to just above the roof of truck so you can't stand inside but is still pretty comfortable, you don't feel squeezed in.
there is no direct access to the power outlet, but it can be easily brought around to front, all in all a good setup IMO.

Yea, I'm not really seeing the point of the bed tent. It seemed like a cool thing at first but I really don't see any reall advantages over a regular tent. If I'm missing the point please give me some reasons. I'm in the market for a new tent.
I was pitchin a tent in the back of my truck last weekend...
That chick was hot...
couldn't resist fellas.
