Ebay for $159.00 + shipping came to around $170.00. Took me 1/2 hour. Very easy install. The new switch has an AUTO position that I think is supposed to turn the headlights on when it is dark enough but it doesn't work on mine. Can anyone shed some "light" on this? Is there a way to gain this functionality?

My wife's 04 altima 3.5 se had the same switch. On her's though there is a photo sensor on dash that picks up the how dark it is and when light is needed, pretty cool. I would guess, you would need to buy the photo sensor, mount it and the wire probably plugs into the switch somewhere.

Mine came with the same turn signal/lheadlight sw. I don't know if you can retro fit the auto function. I did not ask if there was a differerent stalk for the SE or not. So for now I still only have auto off.

If your truck lacks a photo sensor on the dash as described above, more than likely you don't have that portion of the harness prewired in the dash to accept the sensor. If that's the case, your BCM will not know what to do with a sensor if you installed one and got it wired somehow, your BCM is programmed to not have the sensor. Hopefully you do have the sensor though as installing one would probably be VERY expensive (new dash harness $$$$, new BCM $$$, photo sensor $$).

btw. Do your headlights come on automatically? I guess that would tell you if you have that sensor or not.

if you have the off road package then it works, but you buy the kit with w/o off road
package.
