MountainTop aluminum hardcover

Sorry, these pics are a little rough. I'm hitting the road either Wed. or Thurs. for a couple of weeks. I haven't seen this cover talked about much and wanted to quickly get a few pictures posted in case anyone was interested.

I don't know if they support the UtiliTrack system or not.

There are six clamps that mount rails to to the sides, no drilling. It seems very solid and secure. They claim you can carry up to 220 lbs on top. My quick hose/wash job got some water splashes in the bed but not too bad. I think I'll try some gaskets in the tailgate corners as people have talked about in other threads.

Kinda pricey. $1200+ installed. I'm not aware of any similiar covers for the Titan or any truck for that matter. I could be wrong.

I have a dealer of these covers up the road from me and he stocks these so I had a look. If I were to buy a hard top cover, this would be the one. They are very nice, but...this not being a perfect world, you have the obligatory limitations of a hard top and these covers are heavy (I couldn't get past the hard top limits so I ended my search with a Truxedo LoProfile), not comapatible with utilitrac and as mentioned, they are a bit pricey. Lastly, I was interested at the time but the local dealer told me they are only taking orders now and won't be shipping until the fall.

That makes the paragon folding aluminum cover on my wish list, seem cheap at $600.

The Peragon is as low as $490 + $59 to ship if you do not buy direct from Peragon.

There's a thread somewhere that calls attention to the possibility of an object, up close to the retracted cover, preventing it from opening.

For price, this hard cover looks interesting at $350

I wonder if I could make it attach to the Utilitrack rails.

Re: MountainTop aluminum hardcover

Very interesting!

I like the black, and as I have requested info from a few dealers I'm asking if I can get it without the top rail.

Undercover by VersaCover has completely burned their bridge with me. Once again after a year long wait they tell me again "oh we should have it done in another 60 to 90 days." Yea, right, like I believe their crap this time... And before anybody replies "Undercover makes a cover for the Titan", trust me, I know, but they don't make one for my King Cab, they only make one for the Crew Cab.

Re: MountainTop aluminum hardcover

Well this answers one question...

And this version is kind of interesting, the crome rails might look good with all the other chrome on my SE.

:YIKES: I'll say...

I like the look of the LT better as it is smooth and flat and about the same price. It looks like it could be Leer 700 for me for $825.

Re: Peragon

I made an inquiry to Peragon and they confirmed that their tonneau cover is not compatible with the Utili-Track system.

However, they said: "Some customers have replaced portions of their trac once they have installed their cover."

Does any of you guys know what this means?

Regards

Re: MountainTop aluminum hardcover

As an update,I went with the LazerLite, it is a full solid sheet of aluminum, and I like it very much, have had it for 6-months or so.

LazerLite is one of the sponsors here.
