SPray in Bedliner?

Anyone know how much these spray in bedliners run and what companies are out there and which is better than the other? Any help would be greatly appreciated....ALso, any drawbacks from having this type of liner? Thanks

They really have no negatives. I would suggest using Herculiner if you feel like doingn it yourself. I did my 01 Tundra 2 days after buying it new. It was rough to scuff the paint to apply it, but when it was done it looked incredible. Plus about 1/3 the cost of spray in. I compared it to my neighbor's with a spray in and mine looked more durable and it was less skid resistant.

Not to mention you can touch it up super easy.

The hardest part (and most time consuming) is the prep. You get a little scouring pad in the kit that you have to ruff up the paint where the herculiner is going so it will stick. The only thing you need to buy that is not in the kit is some acetone. That's for the final wiping down after prep. Then just roll it on. You should have more than enough to do a titan bed, especially if its a CC. With the extras, apply a second coat to the bed bottom.

I did 2 coats on my Tundra... one the first time, and another a year later... just because it was on sale for like $50. Loved the stuff.

I disagree. Herculiner and Duplicolor are the lowest priced, lowest quality stuff you can buy. Have a spray-in professionally put in.

None of spray-ins are perfect, but you will have the best luck with LINE-X. I have researched bedliners and I have very detailed technical information about many of them that are on the market. Most of the liners are 100% polyurethane, some are 100% polyurea, and LINE-X is a mix of polyurea and polyurethane. The mix makes LINE-X have some unique qualities such as higher temperature tolerance, higher chemical resistance, higher tear strength. And, LINE-X is the only spray-in bedliner with a NATIONWIDE lifetime warranty. Let me know if you have any questions about any of the liners.

The only draw back is that it is intended to be a permanent liner. Don't worry if you get Herculiner or Duplicolor, it will come out by itself anyway in a year or two.

my over the rail line-x on my chevy was 425 and worth every penny plus if something should happen to it they fix it under warranty. I never had any problems with it and never stained unlike a couple rhino linings I've seen.

I had ArmaCoat on my Tacoma, and LineX on my Tundra. Both were very good, but I liked the LineX better. Thicker, and a better texture.
(I am NOT a LineX dealer.)

My Titan has the utility bed package with the factory spray-in liner. Very thin. Wonder how it will hold up over the years.

Have had Herculiner in my last three trucks and even installed in my John Deere Gator. It holds up great! If you don't mind doing it yourself you can do it for about $75.00.

I have ProLiner and the cost was $300.
It's a few months old and is still as glossy looking as the day it was sprayed. Worth every penny and more.

I had a quote from my local Line-X installer for about $350 for the regular under rail installation and for another $200 they added something into the spray that would keep the glossy black appearance.

They had two trucks side by side one with regular Line-X and the other with the glossy look. The regular was dull and grayish black and the other looked great. Both were sprayed about the same time period.

The question is what are they adding to the regular Line-X spray that is keeping the glossy look?

The dealer is located in Marietta, Georgia and has been involved with some big projects around the nation, such as, things like Monster Garage.

The other thing I liked about Line-X, but I could not afford is they will do color matching for an additional $200 using the trucks factory colors. That might have been interesting getting the bed sprayed in Nissan radiant silver.

Bull... Herculiner is great stuff. I had it for over 3 years and never had one problem, any flaking, etc. And I hauled a lot of stuff. It saw harsh MN winters and hot MN summers. Never flaked, peeled or bubbled.

You'll find tons of other happy folks on the net who used it. Those who don't like it are Spray in Liner dealers, those that have never used it, or kicking themselves because they spent over 3 times as much for spray in.

Yep, I'm a LINE-X dealer as reported in other sections of this website.

Ask the dealer what he is putting on the liner. It's either Ultra Shield, which is a UV topcoat, or even perhaps DuPont paint (or a generic). If you take care of your liner, you really don't need that stuff. Put either Just Once (www.justonce.com) or 303 Aerospace on the liner 4 or 5 times a year and it will always look as good as new. Don't use any silicone based product, it makes it too slippery. If your not disciplined enough to do that, then consider a topcoat.

I read about 40 truck related forums every day. 90% of those who use Herculiner or Duplicolor are sorry they used it. Most of them complain that it chips off in a year or two and it looks bad after a while. Unless you have a way to spray it on, you have to put it on with a brush, and it looks like you put in on with a brush. For the other 10% of the users AND myself, it's perfect for farm equipment, trailers, beater trucks, or the like, but I can't imagine using it on a $25,000 to $40,000 vehicle. The quality and chemical make up does not come close to LINE-X. I'm telling you, "You get what you pay for." applies here.

Black is the most popular color. LINE-X has "standard" colors like red, navy blue, etc. Or, the LINE-X dealer will actually color match the trucks paint using the factory paint code. The most popular color we spray is Ford's Arizona Beige. It's drop-dead beautiful. Keep in mind that darker colors work better than light colors. Light colors look dirty if you don't keep them really clean.

You keep throwing Duplicolor in there as well. All of the folks I've talked to on the forums that use Herculiner couldn't be happier with it. Duplicolor may be another story, but I've never personally used it so I can't comment.

And you apply it with a roller, using a brush in corners and other areas.

Prep is a b*tch for any liner, and if it's not done right, it will chip. Just look at the Titan factory liner. Perfect example. But if done right, Herculiner will not chip under normal circumstances. And that is from Personal experience.

Unfortunately, we don't know the technical data on Herculiner because their website does not show it. It would be nice to learn of: Shore rating, elongation, tensile strength, temperature tolerance, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, etc. I have that sort of data on many bedliners that are on the market. If you want, give Herculiner a call and get the info. Then we can compare it to other liners. That way we can talk facts, not just opinions.

EDIT: I Google searched and found some of the data, at this point I need temperature tolerance, tear strength, shore rating, and abrasion resistance.
