Fram Air Hog Filter

Has anyone tryed the new Fram air hog filter? Its made as a filter replacement. You install it in the factory air box, Fram says it will give improved air flow. I will buying one today and, will post here after the swap out .

I have one..same thing as the K&N..drop in and forget about it..as for throttle response and all that..maybe who knows..I don't put much faith in CAI's..I'm sure some of them work..but the bang for the buck is questionable..gas mileage wise..CAI's seem to work if you can keep your foot out of it!

I put one in a few weeks back and agree with Devil, don't really notice much with it, especially since I don't seem to keep my foot out of it!!!

if you are using K&N or other brand reusable air filters don't over oil them the excess oil gets on the mass air flow sensor wire and ruins it. if it goes bad and you have one of these filters you will be paying the 400-600 dollar bill. I know from experiance just a warning

Don't wast your money on a Air Hog or K&N drop in filter, If you whan Horse power and gas milage. Just spend the money on the K&N Aircharger. You just spent from 24 to 35 thousand dollers on your truck, Don't be cheap get the aircharger.

The good thing about dropin cleanable filters is you'll save money in the long run, I mean long, but if you plan on keeping your truck for a long time probably not a bad investment.

Devil; Do a seach. you will find that steve04se has done a dyno and gained 20hp. Jet tech has a volant with similair results. I believe that both of them have a flow master exhaust as well. The K&N is about 250.00 shipping included. It is well worth the dollars. You will have a big smile on your face, especially if you also modify yoour exhaust.

volant k&n failed

i tried all 3
air hog is the only one that would even work for my titan
1 volant
2 kn
3 fram
volant would not even bolt up correctly and the ram air snake fell off onto the hwy
kn killed my computer
made service engine soon light come on
costs 85 dollars to reprog my comp
fram popped right in and no problems so far
i really wanted to keep the volant and ram air snake but it would not fit

Ok..I've seen Steve04se dyno run before..thumbs up your way there Steve! The gains are probably from the exhaust..with a little help from the intake..hey I could be wrong..I don't claim to be an expert..I've had CAI's in the past on various cars..they seemed to help with gas mileage..and they DO make alot of noise..the intakes I've seen for the Titan are really short rams..A true CAI will be closer to the ground to draw cold air better..but hey if you think you're getting close to 20 HP..Great! As for me..I'm going with a Magnaflow exhaust..a A'PEXI fuel/air computer..maybe a Brute Force Intake if AEM gets off their *** and makes one..and There you have it!
