I put the OEM deflector on this evening. Looks very good with the Galaxy black. I don't anticipate any problems removing the tape that protects the paint if it ever becomes necessary. Question to the group- what is the best thing to use to clean the deflector to minimize scratches?
Sorry about late reply, on vacation. Just got use of a computer. My deflector is a Lund. Cost about 80 bucks (but can be had cheaper I'm sure). I didn't shop around, just wanted it ASAP. Cost about $50.00 to paint, probably over paid for that too. Had it done at a paint shop. They took the paint code off the door jamm. Oh well,... still happy with it. Pretty good on the trip, but still some bugs on the windshield, not bad at all though.
FinFan, yours is the best looking yet. I have OEM deflector, installed myself. The tape is not a problem, the adhesive comes off easily with a little alcohol and leaves no sign that it was there (had to reposition one clip). There are two clips that actually fasten under the hood with, applied into inserts in existing holes. The installation was really painless, and best of all the deflector can be easily removed/reinstalled with just 4 (5?) screws for cleaning. Advantages are as stated above, less wind noise in the cab at 70-75mph, no bugs on the windsheild and hopefully no rock chips on my Titan's little pug nose!

I put the Wade deflector on mine and Nissan one on my daughters. I like the looks slightly better on the Nissan deflector but the Wade sits up to where you can wash behind it easily. The Wade uses two screws with no clips or tape on your hood and cost about $30 less. It also installed in about 3 minutes as apposed to 45 minutes and 2 people on the OEM, (so I was told). Both deflectors greatly reduced amount of hits to windshield.

After reading this thread, I made up my mind to go and get the Nissan deflector which I did for $70 plus tax. Upon installing it, step 2 requires that you stick tape to the hood so the brackets do not scratch the paint. Sorry but I'm not sticking tape to my paint anywhere except for the splashguards. Deflector goes back tomorrow. Besides, in comparison to other places in the country, we don't have a whole lot of bugs down here in Phoenix.
It is not bugs so much as it is the stone damage to the hood that it protects. A stone hit my hood a day before I install the deflector and left a couple of marks. Hadn't had any problem since.

I have a Lund X-terminator bug shield- cost was $50 shipped. Very easy install (uses expansion clips and screws which fit into existing holes underside hood). This shield is slightly smaller than OEM and most other shields that I have seen, but still protects well.

I just installed a factory deflector today...along with the fog light kit. The deflector took longer to install than the fog lights. About the tape you put on your paint. It is not the kind of tape that would damage your paint job. It is a clear gel type of sticky substance. It is like the plastic coating seal that is on electronics. It does not harm a thing. Trust me
