rearview mirror question

Hi All,
Anyone know if the titan rearview mirror uses a wedge mount or cam lock mount? I am ordering a mirror upgrade and they asked which one and I said I'll call you back!!

Thanks for any help

Mike

I did it to mine... same truck color too ok, anyway, it is a metal glued to the windshield and the mirror slides from the top.
DO NOT try to pull the mirror, be very carefull when handling, you don't want to happen what happened to me, I was trying to see how it was held in place, used the screw driver to pry the plastic cover, but there was no plastic cover at all, so guess what, the mirror fell in my hands and it pull a chunk of the windshield.. very sad, like the size of a dollar coin chunk...., anyway it is going to be hard to slide the mirror out of the metal holder glue to the glass, so again be careful.... let me know how it went.
By the way, XE's are not prewire for the Homelink type mirror, good luck.

Thanks all,
I ordered this mirror (in case any XE's want to upgrade) http://shop.store.yahoo.com/rodi/autdiminrear.html

It comes with its own wiring harness and price was reasonable (184.00 shipped). From my research, the stock mirror should slide up and this mirror slides on the base.

Will report when it is installed.

Mike

Hye Paul,
I ordered the one without map lights which was 189..Then on the same page it shows a code to use for $5 more off which got it down to 184. And all orders over 150 is free shipping !!

I will post pics of it when it arrives, should be an easy install and half the price of nissan one.

I'll let you be the guinnea pig, case its a POS
I'm sure its fine. I changed the mirror on my last car and was never pleased. I had subs in the trunk, and whenever they hit, the thing would RATTLE like crazy and no way to tighten it. Stocker didn't do that. Makes me want to say "naww, I'll leave this one stock"

But I am so used to driving my company car during the week, its a POS but it has a temp read out and a compass, etc. I miss those features when I get in my XE. Small price to pay for the auto dimm, although I could have used that more BEFORE I had the rears limo tinted. The tint cuts out ALOT of headlight glare, and I never have to flip the mirror up to the night-driving position.

Paul, I am more then happy to "take one for the team" . Anyway, I talked to them for a while and the guy seemed to be pretty confident this one should mount solidly on existing base. It also comes with its own base in case I cant get it. I also looked and found that on front of overhead console, there is already a hole for wiring!! Should be able to tap into existing hot line going to maplights and then just run the temp sensor. I was really after the auto dimming, love that feature. The compass, temp was just icing on cake!!

Hey Mike, I thought you wanted the Factory Le style, if I had known you just wanted the auto dimming mirror with compass and temp guage, I would have offered you the Nissan one for the Altima's or other vehicles! But it doesn't have the homelink transmitter in it which I thought you were looking for! The one Nissan offers looks identical to the one you are purchasing, and it comes with it's own harness and sensor and instructions for installation. I doesn't have the map lights either! And ofcourse they are a little more expensive than the aftermarket. They are $246.00 for the compass and temp and $160.00 for the compass only. Both are auto-dimming and made by Donnelly corporation. If anyone is interested, just let me know. Oh and BTW the Titan mirrors are Wedge mounted mirrors so these will fit! Sorry about the confusion Mike, I hope everything works out for you!
