Hi everyone,
My wife bought her 08 Titan CC used and it came with a tonneau cover. The problem is, there is supposed to be some kind of cover or latch that lifts to reveal the lock, but it has been torn off. The rest of the cover is in good shape, so I dont want to deal with the hassle of getting a whole new cover and getting it painted, etc. I need to find the part that apparently just sticks on with double sided tape and maybe screws too. The thing is, I don't know what brand of cover it actually is... unless it really is a Bauer, but I can't find ANYTHING on them. Bauer is the only name I found anywhere on the cover. It is on the key, but also on the lifting mechanism inside. I've included a couple pics to show what I'm talking about. Please forgive the pollen all over the place... stupid Florida weather can't make up its mind. We get 80+ degree weather and pollen starts covering everything, then down to 27 degrees so I can't wash it off, lol.
Best thing to do is contact the maker of the cover. Is there a name on the cover?
Thats the thing... there is no name anywhere on the cover. (I bet its on the part that is broken off, lol) I've looked up Bauer, but it doesnt look like they even make covers anymore (if they ever did) Bauer only appears on the key for the lock and on the arms that raise the top. The only info I could find was a cheesy website that has part schematics of locks. I am emailing the company, but figured this might have been a common cover back in 08 and someone else here might have one. Because from the looks of the website... not sure how much help they are going to be. Doesn't look like they are doing much business from the looks of it, lol. Bauer Products - Bauer Products
See... THATS why I posted it here! lol. Wish I would have posted here weeks ago instead of spending countless hours searching for this darn thing. I think thats it! Now to find if they have that part for sale, lol. That should be easy now that I have that though. Looks like they don't have any dealers in Florida and dont have a parts section on their website, so I will contact them. THANK YOU!!!
I second that! Helped me out in the only 2 posts I've made on this forum, lol. I didn't think I was EVER going to find a replacement part for this cover. I was actually talking to a guy about fabricating one, but knew it would take him forever doing it in his spare time. THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
