The Nissan cover is a frame mounted, peel back, thingie. Manual batton removal/installation as well as it covers some of the bedrail caps. I had my Titan at the dealer and the guys from parts were swarming over it. It was the first ACCESS they had seen installed on a Titan. They were taking pics to share with other owners looking for cover ideas.

The only problem I have had with my Truxedo was when there was heavy snow on it. Once you open it with snow on top, you can't get the end to lock down again without removing the snow. The weight creates too much tension. Once I brushed a good portion of the now off, it shut fine.

need dimensions

Can those of you with the Access and Truxedo tonneau cover take dimensions for the mounting rails? Please refer to my attached drawing.
Perhaps a sketch of the correct profile would help.
I want to know how far each protrude into the bed area and how far down each hang.

Thanks,
Kevin

Does anybody with either the ACCESS or the Truxedo have the non-sliding bed extender? If so will you please post pics or at least comments on how well the bed extender fits with the tonneau installed.

Thanks!!

Can't decide between Truxedo Low-pro and Access. Can anyone do a quick comparison run down if you have either and know the differences/similarities/drawbacks/benefits?
Are they priced about the same?
Which one is more taut? I don't want to hear flapping on the freeway.
Thank you!

My Access dealer told me he can install the Access cover on its own rails (that sit just above the utilitrack), so I could still use my extender and divider. Is this true? How does the Access cover attach to the bed (if you have the Utilitrack system)?

Thanks.

Truxedo & Access cover info

Links to the installation for the Truxedo and Access cover are below.

http://www.truxedo.com/pdf/1113667-truxedo-manual.pdf

http://www.accesscover.com/Media/PDF...nersmanual.pdf

Below is the response from Access.
"I talked with our tech support and here is what they had to say.
Refer him to our web site, to click on support , then click on owners manual then scroll to page showing the access rail. It sets on top of the utility track channel, then extends in to the box about 3 inches on each side. It leaves his utility track channel fully functional (the rails are mounted to truck box with screws). If he has a Nissan bed extender, he would need to purchase the optional bed extender conversion kit to allow it to work with the ACCESS cover."

Did anyone buy the optional bed extender conversion kit?

I will post more information as it is received.

Thanks for the info.

Very cool! Good to know my dealer knows what he's talking about :-)

So, then the Access cover is the only soft cover I know of that leaves the utilitrack free. I think I will drop by the dealer today and order one.

tonneau cover rail profile comparison

12/02 - I updated the attached file. The profile comparision was incorrect. I am still waiting for dimensions from Truxedo.

11/30 - I am still waiting on information from Truxedo.
Access has responded to each of my two emails, I'm impressed.

Refer to the attached drawing to compare the profiles of the Truxedo vs. the Access tonneau covers. I have even included my proposed mounting rail profile. The proposed profile offers clearance for the bed extenders, better weather protection, stronger support (top & side suface contact), but you will lose access to the Titan bed rail pockets.

Does anybody use the top rail pockets when a tonneau cover is installed anyway?

If I could only get Access to make this for all of us Titan owners!

I just ordered the access roll-up tonneau cover from Darryl @ tonnocover.com for $422.10 shipped. This included the weather stripping and a "free" large car duster. Every other on-line vendor I found was listing it for about the same price- so I guess the "freebies" swung it. Looked on Ebay- but couldn't find one for the Titan. I called Accesscovers direct- and they wanted $469 + 30 shipping.

Like I said earlier, I swung by my dealer this afternoon to get another look at the Access cover, and possibly order one.

After looking at it again, I wanted to order one, but he happened to have one in stock! 30 minutes later I was the proud owner of the cover, installed. I have made a separate thread with (fuzzy) pictures attached.
