When I looked at that I too started thinking. To me it almost looks like it is a bed made out of 2x12"s or something running from side to side in the truck bed. Sort of the same thing I do with 2x4"s so I can carry 4x8' sheets in my small pickup above the wheel arches so they lay flat.

However, the more I look at that pic I can't help but think what ever I needed would be way up at the front and I would be crawling under that thing looking for stuff...

No doubt, but what if is slid forward/backward on the Utili-Trac and it was sectioned into three pieces (kinda like the modular bed cover on a Chevy Avalanche) so that it could easily be removed/installed/stored. Hmmm... time to call my metal fabricator.

the tent from the factory is "only" $180, and looks same as the $200+ models. i'll bet walmart has one for under 100 that would fit as well

Aren't any of you concerned at the potential paint damage that these tents could do to your trucks fenders and tailgate. Sorry, but I wouldn't touch one with a 10' pole until there's a garantee it won't damage the paint.

Have a good one.

Just wrap the straps with a soft towel or something to keep it off the paint.

Ah the paint protection Issue bites again. I hunt alot and tend to drive down a lot of grown over fire trails in upper michigan. Well now I have a new ride and I've found these. I'm going to contact them and see if they have a pattern for the Titan. I'm sure these are just Die cut magnetic sign sheet material that has the camo pattern laid on. Now if we could find someone that offers these to match our paint colors. Pop it on, throw up the tent, now that would be nice. Would even protect the side of the bed from those little lean/reach into the bed scratches on the sides. Hummm.

Oh now I see they've updated to include regular colors. Must of had some requests. hope this helps.

You guys are kidding right? Its a truck. If you take it off road or do anykind of camping you are going to get scratches. I try to take care of my truck but Im not going to break down and cry if a branch gives the truck a small scratch.

Disclaimer: I live in the south-west where you dont really have to worry about rust

thats a nice tent, my parents just bought 66 acres in which i will be camping at most likely every weekend. This would be a nice feature to have so i dont have to pull a camper down there.

Ok, I received my tent and set it up so I know what Im doing the first time I go out camping. First off, dont expect to set this up in 10 minutes the first time. Im sure it gets easier and faster as you do it more.

This tent is very sturdy and secure from the outside elements. It was pretty breezy here today and the tent didnt budge once it was up. Being the first time I set it up I should have centered it better but now I know better. No more sleeping on the ground for me

Good looking set up, it would be really handy for those out of the way places. I wouldn't be overly concerned about scratching the truck with the tent, it's not like you will be driving down the road with it up.
Like they say "scratches happen" that's what polishing compound was made for.
Enjoy and have fun!!!!!!!!!!!
