Thumbs up Class III hitch from Nissan - installation

If anyone is thinking about doing this, go for it! I just installed mine and it took a grand total of about 30 minutes. All you do is line up the holes, torque the 6 bolts to 100 ft/lbs and install 2 relays. Piece of cake!

Of course. The next steps are to install the load balancer and trailer brake. Anyone done this?

Sounds like he bought it from Nissan.
I have an aftermarket hitch and the hitch is great, BUT the bolts they gave me SUCK!
They are completely rusted and when I tried to take them out to replace them they won't budge (tried breaker bar).

soak the bolts with WD-40.Spray them repeatedly and use a wire brush to clean the threads. I got a rusty receiver hitch off a Nissan that was on for 3 years. It wasn't easy but it's do-able.

I got it straight from Nissan. I figured it was worth the extra expense to get it as a bolt-on addition.

Reminds me of the time I had to replace one of the exhaust manifolds on
a 1959 Edsel. Can you imagine what those bolts were like? I was working
out of state, so my dad figured he'd help me out while I was gone. He
went outside every day for a week and soaked the bolt heads with Liquid
Wrench. When I got back home, I couldn't believe how easy they came out.

Paul, be careful and don't strain anything. I could post pics of my umbilical
hernia repair if any of you are interested.

I need to buy me a hitch receiver. Where can I get one for a decent price? I know about courtesyparts.com titanparts247.com they run about $194 + shipping. Can I get one from a salvage yard?

I bought one from a vocal vendor called the Truck Stop. It's a Valley Class III and it ran me $184.00 which including installation, 4-flatbar pig tail, and tax.

The way things have been going for some of the members here lately,
that may soon be possible.
