Overhead console AUX

Months ago I started a thread asking people if they could access the AUX function from their rear seat overhead console. I had asked my local service department and got an unintelligent answer. No one responded from this forum that they could. So I called Nissan Customer Care. The next day she called back. She had talked to the same service department. She told me I was not the only one to complain about this and I should return to the service department and they would replace my overhead console.

Wow! First of all, I didn't complain about it. I just asked the question whether it was operating as designed. Secondly, my previous vehicle was a Ford F150. I know for a fact that if this had been a Ford, the answer would have been, "Yes we designed it this way. Now go away and stop bothering us." I know this because I had to sue Ford to get satisfaction on a defectively designed transmission. (And that's how I got the down payment for my Titan!)

So. Thank you Ford for being so blind to the value of customer satisfaction. Thank you Nissan for anticipating the value of customer satisfaction. You have made a loyal customer out of me!

Now for the rest of you who still have an overhead console that can't access AUX, my advice is contact your local service department and if they don't satisfy you, call Customer Care.

Nissan is the greatest!

So are you saying you can now access AUX on the rear controls? They replaced my entire everhead console last month, controls and all and I never thought to try and see if it works now.

What? The overhead console has an AUX port? Noticed you guys have LE's and SE's. I have an XE (in the shop right now) do you think I have this port?

Uhh, yeah, when the rear is in headphone mode the aux doesn't work on mine but any other time it does.

Can you clarify what yours does now?
