Chrome plated stock wheels & running boards

Has anyone chromed their stock wheels? If so, can someone please post pics? This sounds like it would look good to me, but I'd really like to see it on a truck before I made the investment.

Also, what about chroming the stock running boards? Can this be done or is it easier/cheaper just to buy new ones?

depending on what you have, if they are alum. the process to chrome them may compromise your wheel integrity/strength.

You can find the chromed wheels on ebay from a firm in CA. There was a post earlier with someone who had the six spoke wheels. They looked great. Also, the Texas Titan came with factory chromed six-spoke LE wheels and running boards. So, they are probably available for some serious $$ from Nissan parts. Check ebay first

You can do this: Low cost appearance mod to aluminum parts

Scroll down to post #6. Cost you about $10 and 8 hours labor.

powder coating my nissan rims

Hello all, I'm tempted to sandblast and powder coat my old nissan rims with a black or smoked chrome look. I don't need them anymore, not sure if I really want to do it yet. They might look pretty good on a darker truck. Sandblasting the rims shouldn't ruin the rims strength. I have some 18" chromes on it now, I think I'm going to go with some new 20's.
Later all, Dan.
