Tire upgrade, how wide can stock wheels take?

I only have 13K on my Titan, but am looking forward to the day when I can get some new rubber on her. I'm not necessarily into a taller tire, but I definitely want a wider, more aggressive footprint. Does anyone know what the stock rims will accomodate? Not sure I won't change the rims too, but would like to know what I can fit on her as is, as I'm not exactly made of money.

The best thing to do is go to the web sites of the tire makers. Look up the tire you are interested in and they will list all the specs (wheel width, tread width, sidewall width, OD, revs per mile, etc.)
For example look at this:

I'm going with a set of BFG AT 315/70/R17s and about 2.5" lift....and will be triming something...just don't know what yet.
These will be on the O/R 17" alloys, 7.5" wide
