Question Side Steps Dilemma

I'm looking to install side steps on my Titan. I've been looking into the Westin oval side steps, I then saw a picture of them installed and noticed there was a lot of space between the the side step and the base of the truck. I didn't like that. I am looking for chrome side steps that will have a small amount of space between the base of the truck and the side step.

I'm asking for a little help. Send a picture if possible...Thanks!

I purchase these, they are made by Aries off-road. I think they sit a little closer to the body.

Will take pics tomorrow and post.

Hi Pupule_04 ,

They look sweet for the price in the ad! One question, I noticed that the rubber steps are attached with screws (so it seems in the pic). Do they look to you like the rubber steps will take the heavy wear now that you can see them up close? Thanks

I am also considering those side bars. You can go directly to there site from the e-bay ad and purchase them for the starting bid price instead of going through E-Bay. Worth going to there site, they have different bars for you to browse. I would give you the link but I don't know if that is allowed on this site??? Eddie

I just purchased these through the following:
Ebay Link
The step bars are mad by aries auto. Check them out here:
Aries Auto

the bars were easy to install, about an hour by myself. The directions for the bars are horrible. I had to call Aries to get some direction on the install. If you need any help once you get them, let me know and I can write up the easy way to install these.
I can send a pic as well if you don't mind a dirty truck along with it!

Nik

Pics added, see above post. The steps are not as beefy as the ones titan_tx will be getting. But Ilike them cuz they are close to the body of the truck, subtle(even though they are shiny SS), and functional (wife no longer complains about climbing in). The sturdiness of the plastic step is fair, could be better, but for the price I am satisfied. Instructions were horrible, brackets were not labeled as the instructions said. But I was still able to figure it out and get them mounted by myself in about 60 to 90 mins.

I Am Sold! Exactly What I Am Looking For. The Aries Have Hardley Any Space Between The Bottom Of The Body And The Side Step. Now My Neice Won't Break Her Leg Getting In My Truck. The Price Is Very Reasonable Too. Very Happy I Posted This Thread. Also, Your Titan Looks Great! I Especially Like The Chrome Tailgate Add-on.

I have the Nissan side steps and only purchased them because they were functional. Many side steps that don't have a gap, don't allow enough room to get your foot in there. Also with no gap, people will try to force their shoe in there scuffing up your rocker panel paint.

I had an Xterra and the gap between the rocker panel and the side step was to small for my foot so I never used it. Since I couldn't get my foot into it, the side step was great for mudding my pant leg.

Just thought you should know before you buy something.

Have a good one.
