Anyone in the Portland Oregon area.....

DO NOT EVER buy parts from Ron Tonkin Nissan on 122nd Ave! Just picked up my door mouldings for my dinged CC SE, and my buddy noticed that there were flaws in the paint (much to my funny bone, they had them painted at Courtesy Ford across the street). We tried to politely tell them that they were not acceptable and this Napolean complex, balding, "I hate my job" doofuss tells us that: A. These aren't Rolls Royce parts, and B. That's the best it's gonna get, C. There are always going to be imperfections in a paint job, and D. We were doing you a favor, you can try to get it painted for less somewhere else.
Afetr resisting the urge to rip this guy's head off and $hit down his neck, we paid for the mouldings and went to Ford, where my bud got his F-150. The service cat fell all over himself trying to make it right. He and a couple other guys remarked that their farmed out paint job sucked and they would get it re-done. They even offered to install them, they were so apologetic.
End result: Ron Tonkin Nissan could have picked up the phone, been on MY side and won big time. Instead, the lazy, slacker, indicative of our "could care less" society decided to argue over something we weren't even blaming them for. This, my friends is why the US is sucking and corps outsource. I complained mightily but expect little.
It was ALMOST enough to make me consider buying a Ferd. Their service beats the $hit out of these prima dona a$$holes that act like you owe them because you just purchased a vehicle from them.
My mission now is to make their parts dept. live in shame.

I lived in Portland in the mid 90's and was with the opinion that most everyone who had anything to do with servicing a vehicle in that town was pretty much an a-hole, and could care less about easily resolving a problem. I had stuff like this happen very, very frequently. Must be something in the water up there.

BTW, Portland was awesome. I miss the good beer!!

Go get em, Coach!

Went to Tonkin a few years ago looking for a base Silverado diesel. Which they told me they had in stock. In my price range. Got there and recieved nothing but about my tradein. Not going back.

Metro Nissan-Buick in Vancouver needs to learn a lesson about customer service also. What the is with these guys anyway? I call, wanting to buy the little plastic retainer thingy for the driver's mat in my wife's Pathfinder, and hey, you can't order parts over the phone.
So I go in, and some dork walks by and says "You have to order the whole mat with that." I don't think so...

What's it going to take with these consolidated dealers? Nissan makes the best truck going right now (we all know that!) but Customer Service at these outfits is nonexistent with the parts department! I live too far out in the hills to just go driving around looking for someplace better. Anybody know where I can call to complain?

With much reluctance, I bought from Tonkin because they were by far the closest to me. About 15 years ago we went to them to look at cars, they took our car keys, offered us $400 and were uncooperatuve about returning the keys. The sales department was actually OK this time. Nissan USA has sent out forms inquiring about how the dealer is doing regarding sales and service. That would be the best place to share your experience. Sales pushed hard to get high rankings on the feedback form. They even had new owners clinics at which they gave us mugs and tshirts. I did notice a light scrape on the front bumper a couple of days after last having it serviced. Can't prove it but suspect it happened in the lot. You may wish to do a walk-around inspection after service to be certain there are no new dings.

I have been really happy with Salem Nissan's service center, if I have a problem Bill always fits me in even late in the day. So if you don't mind the 40 Min drive down here try that, if they suck soo bad in PEE town area. I have also even been down to Albany Nissan ........Withnell, really had a great service call. in and out no troubles and no waiting.

Love that one bad apple spoils the basket saying.
KEEP IN MINE WE HAVE THE BEST DAMB TRUCK ON THE PLANET and if I knew how to change my font I would make that bigger still.
