Cool New aftermarket tailgate lifter!!

Hoppy is coming out with a tailgate lifter they call the easylift! From what I know so far, it's basically going to be a torsional spring steel rod that will insert into the tailgate and truck body! It will fit the 04-05 titan. The early specs say that it removes 80% of the tailgat weight and it should install in about 15 minutes! It will list for around $20.00. is anybody interested in this??

I think I'll start taking bets on how many responses this thread is going to rack up. I'll guess at least 4 pages worth.

So yeah, I'm interested. Anymore details or a website that we can check out, even if it's for their product on other trucks? I'd like to see what the finished product looks like and what the install procedure is.

It's interesting that they say it fits the 04-05 Titan. First, we've figured out that the beds are different between the '04s and '05s. Second, why would someone with an '05 need one?

Thanks for the heads up too BTW.

I got the 05 Rigid Hitch catalog today and it was in there, but I went to hoppy's site and Rigid's site and nothing! So I called Hoppy, and they said that it's new and won't be released until March and thats why its not on their site. There is somewhat of a picture in the catalog, if I can scan it in today, I will post it!

Actually, these torsions bars are not new. I've seen them installed on other trucks. They work very well except for Tundras, the tailgates are too light.

While the torsion bars are not new, one being available for the Titan is new I believe. Or are there others already out there that do fit the Titan?

Also, I'm assuming not much bed modification is necessary for a 15 minute install? But then again install times are always low-balled by the manufacturers.

Jamie, the price and install time sounds great.

Titangasm, I've seen this type of torsion rod at a industrial website, but not any clue as to where it would go, or how you would mount it.
On the other trucks you've seen it on, did you happen to notice how it was attached? I'm interested if it turns out to be a simple bolt on, and not something that involves drilling and sheet metal screws.
