The pieces are thicker so it definitely looks like an add on since the edges are not tapered thin
but this also add strength if you hit it with a tool or somethign it doesnt scratch
and I used 3m prep spray--and that didnt casue any discoloration to my dash
but I will say that the peieces have to be pretty warm to apply properly if they are mildy warm you run the risk of them tearing
thats a installer problem not a defect--just giving you a heads up
I have never owned the sherwood--only seen pics butit seems as if the sherwood sit more flush and has things like steering wheel covers, tweeter ring cover, and a peice that goes on the glove compartment.
-there is a guy on the forum who has the wood burl sherwood, and his looks wat tighter than mine
my dash looks weird as I have some wood, and then too much factory left over in my opinion
if you have the bench seats I woudlnt recommed it, since you dont ahve enough coverage to make it look "factory"--if that makes sense
the center console seems to look better--more wood to offset the factory dash
my rear cabinhas almost no woodpeices njsut two peices for the doors so it looks really bare--lol
my set, it may have been redesigned (since I know they have added some peices that I didnt get)--I was one of the first way back in early 04
and replacement or additions are VERY exspensive so be careful with your install
and make you factor in shippign cost and time as my set was not cheap to ship and it took awhile from FLA
