You guys are awesome!!! Thanks for keeping this thread upbeat with positive feedback. Here's what I have found out from OIW to help address a few concerns and questions shared so far about the current design; A & B) the clearance between the headlight wrap bar and side of the vehicles fenders and fascia is approximately 1.5", not much of a gap, I'm afraid the absense of additional supports in this space makes the side clearance 'gap' (per Squid) appear larger than it is. I think the additional vertical support idea at the corner where the headlight and side marker meets is great, and it might kill two birds (no offense intended for any PETA members out there) with one stone. It would helps fill the space but also helps protect the corner of the headlight assembly from an object that would fit into the space.
C) The transition from larger tubing diameter to smaller tubing diameter on the wraps was necessary to make the very tight radius possible at the top back corner of the marker lamp, plus it adds rigidity to the entire wrap since the smaller size extends into the larger size at the welded (sealed) joint between the two sizes.
Let's keep this going... got to go right now... be back later.

Just for kicks, I mirrored the image you posted so that we could see the whole thing. It actually looks pretty good IMHO.
I think that looks 100% better. I also agree with the Chrome or Paint to match would also add a lot more.
Hey BassTow, tell them to keep up the good work. Its not easy coming up with new idea's expecially for a new style truck as well.

I've been looking at the rough changes that Wedgie and Wheatie did for two days (mornings) now next to other bars out on the market and I must say I really really like it. I think that this "Mad Max Bar" fits the look of the truck. There's lots of places for lights and the way the lower part is I bet a winch could be adapted to it and would look very nice. I'm not a structural engineer so the guys at the shop would have to answer the winch question.
But I would really like to see a mockup. Great work and I'm glad Basstow is still out there lurking.
Funny you should mention adding a winch. I was going to mention to BassTow that since they are building the bars themselves they should concider installing a front mounted tow receiver. It would be original! No other manufactor puts a hitch on their guards, which doesn't make since, because it would be so useful. You could easy add a winch, tow hook, or a ball for pusing your trailer around. It would also make for a great selling point.
Another selling point I think would be to install driving lights or fog lights for the customers.
On a side note: Squid I could have sworn that I read somewhere that you said no brushguard makes the Titan look good?
That would look nice on my 72 FJ40 Landcruiser or a flatbed farm truck but to me it would just ruin the looks of my truck. To me the front end makes this truck.

I still feel that way. Until someone produces a bar to match the lines of this truck, my truck will be barless. The people who are experimenting with this new bar could end up doing very well for themselves.
Remember that the new Frontier looks a lot like the Titan.(Market #2)

Actually, OIW says the production tooling was made to be able to change the pitch (distance) of the center uprights to fit any of the Nissan products (or other vehicles that the "V" shape would match). Right now the OIW "Real Deal" center grille guard can be had for $370 + shipping in either a semi-flat black or textured metallic painted finish. Painted to match vehicle color will add some cost since automotive finishes aren't cheap, but OIW says they will do it. They are working on a website, but until then I'm trying to help out.
OIW does seem receptive to some final headlight wrap tweaks to the full version of "Real Deal". Question; Is it really necessary for the headlight extensions to wrap around the side of the vehicle? For users that might get some impact from limbs, etc... only the leading edge and corner of the head/turn lamp assembly seems to need the protection. Much like the one version modified above where a vertical member was added at the corner turn. Would shortening the wrap to extend slightly around the corner and barely outside the width of the vehicle turn people off, or actually make it a little more conservative to turn folks on (I'm referring to buying decisions, not something else to get this thread off track). Please feedback guys!!!
Also, PM me for OIW contact info if I can't answer or address your questions.
Thanks,
BassTow

Looks great in chrome, but the steal is probably weakened by the process, Chroming metal makes it more brittle i hear. I took that pic with my cellphone at the dealership
I asked the dealer how much and they said 2700 for the grill and gaurd and they were getting it for me at cost lol.
I might just have to get something custom made, I kinda like the look of the aries though I guess I'm weird.
I guess aries is in Long Beach so I could just go pick one up directly from them?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I saw a full T-Rex billet grille set like that for around $200 and the chrome grille/head light guard in chrome couldn't be more than $700, maybe $900 dealer cost + 3-4 hours install labor. Do the math however you like and I can't see how they got $2700 dealer cost.
Wait, wait, I'm figured out a possible formula; $200 billet + $700 chrome grille guard + $300 install labor + $1500 'show me the money, sucker' = $2700 dealer cost...
I personally like the lines of the big chrome guard because it doesn't hide the lines of the vehicle, but some wouldn't like the wide open spaces.
Wouldn't a custom color matched OIW real deal grille guard be more reasonable?

thats what I said, I think he was trying to make all the money back that I talked him down from lol. But yea on the picture where is says 8000 dicount for example, the grill and gaurd are listed at $5000! so then he gives you like $2300 off and still makes a huge profit lol.
