Unfortunately, they don't protect more than maybe some light brush. Hit a deer with it and you'll be sorry. I personally think they detract from the front end looks.

I am with you Hudson. It looks well made, but just doesn't do anything to add to the looks of the Titan.

I personally don't like the weak looks of this guard. The size of the tubing is just to small and the telescoping look of the tubing doesn't look strong enough to fend off anything. They also omitted the tow hooks which are vital if you do any type of off-road driving.

The factory guard has the tow hooks on it and by far, looks much better to me. The factory guard looks beefier and more for function, than for show. While I have seen worse than the "Real Deal", it just wouldn't be for me.

Besides, most brush guards don't fully cover the bumper as the factory guard and this "real deal" guard. That leaves the outer sections of the bumper unprotected.

My 2000 Xterra even without the brush guard, had more protection from it's "STEEL" front bumper. It was just painted black. That's what I really hate the most about the Titan, is the wimpy front bumper that's covered in plastic and held to form with installation. Even though the SE and LE have chrome, the side sections are plastic. Besides Chrome damages pretty easily anyhow with spider cracks and flaking. I wish Nissan would had just gave a 2000 Nissan type of bumper on the Off-Road package to make it even more structurally strong.

Right now I find no 'total protection' by using any brush guard and the fact of owning, looks to be purely for show. If I were to own a brush guard, it would be the factory brush guard with the optional headlight guards.

Have a good one.

despite the fact that it says
"The folks at OIW have put in the time to get it right, and these lines prove it. The head light guards wrap around the right places",
i just dont see it really being that correct in reference to the lines of the front end. i think that ill wait for another brand before i spend the kind of money these cost. i think i would rather buy the factory nissan one.

Cool

Actually, the Titan has a steel bumper throughout, fascia covers the ends, crawl under one and take a look. This bumper system is very strong and durable, however if you want to avoid a lot of cosmetic damage to the fascia paint, fender leading edges, and lights then a full brush guard is for you. Or if you like the 'tough' looks then a grille or brush guard is for you. If neither applies to you, then you wouldn't be interested in the strength of this unit. Yes, it will install with or without tow hooks. Got to go.

DCtitan & TriKKy, I'll try to be nicer than you both have been...I've been posting stuff for this very small company for some time now. No, I'm not getting paid. They are 'real life' friends that have used my titan for development. OIW builds Quality product and I'm proud to be associated with everything they do. Lots of people on this forum don't appreciate people cruisin through the threads just to criticize and slam...why not save us all some grief and lay off.

DC, Don't send me anymore PM's, period. I don't care for the profanity in the PM you sent or the friggin comment above. I'll give you one thing, you really got 'em...a moderator may be cutting them off if you keep it up. Chill out...

TriKKy, maroon THIS!!! at times like these It seems easy to understand why the South and North split during Lincoln's time, to get away from Yankee's that know everything. HEE HEE

I think you are missing the point BassTow. There's no need to post the same topic multiple times in multiple forums just to get more publicity for this grille guard. If people like it, they'll buy it. They really don't need someone to convince them otherwise. What you are doing now fits the definition of spamming, and most moderators/admins wouldn't look too kindly on it.

The features/look of this guard have already been discussed at length, no point in starting a new thread. I suggest you make a simple webpage with info on OIW and then link it to your profile as a better means to promote your friend's business.

im always wondering whats going thru the minds of peeps who ask for opinions and then dont like the opinions given....i mean really....its quite annoying. if you dont like what i have to say about your "friends" product, then dont ask. not everybody likes everything...its just a fact. if somebody personally attacks you, thats one thing, but to negatively comment on something that you asked for comments on, and then turn around and get bent outta shape?, well that my friend, makes you look like a spoiled 8 year old who always wants to get their way...

having said that, maybe you should do as suggested above and post a link to a website that shows the aforementioned bumper guard. just a thought, and a darn good one.

Not sure why BassTow is attacking. He posted about this guard multiple times. I looked and I didn't like. I thought I gave him a fair, objective review of the grill, realizing this was a test grill and not the final deal. Thought I could be helpful with some constructive criticism. Didn't attack him personally before or since. But he still went after me and others.

Now as to the grill, I'll stand by my earlier comments, but add that if you can get it in chrome or stainless, and fix the earlier issues, I'd be interested. I like the look of a full steel bumper with a winch mount like roadarmor myself The ARB Bull Bars are my favorite but unfortunately it doesn't look like we'll be seeing one from them soon as they don't ship Titans or Armadas to Austrailia.

BTW, I'm a regional financial wholesaler of mutual funds and seperate accounts, have 3 federal securities licenses, a CIMA designation from Wharton School of Business, a former house framer, and I'm building a home in Orlando. You'll notice I post mostly on weekends. This is because I'm traveling Tues-Friday each week flying out to Kansas/Nebraska/Oklahoma and traveling my region. I grew up in Jersey, went to Rutgers, and worked on Wall Street for 8 years before I got my current gig. I'd appreciate not being called a teenage kid out trolling.

I haven't seen one post saying "Great Grille" or "How do I get one" so maybe instead of taking the comments as insults, use them as positive feedback to make a better product. And please, before you attack, think first. Good luck to your friends.
