Question Cleaning/Protecting Soft Tonneau Cover

I've had my Truxedo Low Pro installed for about 3 weeks now and, since the So. Cal rains have stopped for the time being, I have finally been able to wash the beast! I washed the cover with the same cleaner I used to wash the truck (Mr. Clean Car Wash). I am sure that is probably not the best thing to use but...

My question is, what is everybody with a soft Tonneau using to clean and protect it with? I've found a few products on the Internet but not sure if there available local or if they are any good.

Thanks

Truxedo recommends 303, and is what I use.

Extang sells their own spray protectant, but I agree with the last post, ie you can't do better than 303 protectant.

If you are going to use this regularly, consider buying it in gallon size to refill the quart spray. I use it on tires, dash, etc.

I had an Extang on my F-150 for almost 4 years. It died before Xmas when I needed to get a snowblower in to shop for service and let the tonneau flop around in 10 deg temp. It completely cracked.

With my Titan, purchased last month, I've taken the hard tonneau approach with a ARE LSII. More expensive, looks real nice, but of course I'm not able to remove this virtually instantly, and when I do it will take two people to lift off.

We'll see. I've put soft tonneaus on all my pick ups for over 20 years, this is my first experience with a hard one. Guess it comes down to what you consider your prime application for the bed to be:

1) carrying motorcycle(s) or large objects- no cover

2) carrying occasional loose crap- soft cover

3) consider it as a large trunk- hard cover for security

I also recommend 303....Gallon jugs $49.00 at top of the line. I use a long windshield cleaning brush to clean and put on 303....works great.

Yes, I can use the extender...I do have to take it out to flip it, but I can use it. I also bolted the rails (Aft and middle) instead of using the clamps like others here have done. As far as leaking, No not really. Maybe a couple of table spoons worth in the back corners by the tailgate and that's it. Its also been raining pretty good here. Can't complain one bit about the cover...I love it!
