I just got my Titan and I am wanting to lock up the spare tire and wheel. What is everyone using to lock theirs up with?

I've got the OEM lock with key. The dealer installed for free although they did have to remove the plastic housing that was there. Looks like the housing was placed there to keep the area clean. I will try and take a pic this week of the lock installed and the housing that was removed. The lock was 15 dollars I believe.

I also have the dealer lock but all I did to instal it was remove the white plastic colar it came with instead of removing the plastic housing on the truck.

I did the opposite and removed the truck side guide. It's only held on with a couple of clips.

yeah I thought about it but without the sleeve on the truck side the lock is exposed and it can be pulled easily and the lock is then useless.

Go to the bike shop or whatever and buy a coil lock-you chose combo or key coil. wrap through the wheel AND the frame,If they REALLY want the wheel they'll get it! keep the key in the truck!

I do the best thing to avoid ever getting a flat. As soon as I get the new truck home the very first thing I do is remove the tire and cable lock the spare in the bed. Since I don't have to worry about hauling passengers in the back if I want to haul large items in the bed I either simply stand the tire up in the bed and fasten it to one of the corner tie downs (if there is enough room) or I fasten it behind either the driver or passenger front seat in the back of the cab. It makes the monthly tire pressure checks a lot easier and almost guarantees not getting a flat when you have good clothes on.
