Prodigy Brake Controller

Just picked up my 2005 Crew Cab with Tow Package...I have found the under dash wiring to hook up the wire harness to...

I'm going to purchase a Prodigy controller, based upon the very positive feedback read here...

Does anyone have the color by color wire hook-up to take the harness into the controller?

I took a look at the Prodigy instructions online and it looks like they only have 4 place/wires to hook up to, while the harness has 6-8.

Thanks!

FYI - Got this from tech support for the Prodigy, and from TitanHauler...

The Titan wires to the Prodigy as follows:
TITA N Prodigy
Red/Green Red
Black White
Brown/White Blue
Red Black
The Red/Blue wire isn't used at all with the controller. Just leave it capped off.
If there is anything more that I can help you with, please let me know.
Have a good day !!

The Prodigy is the best you can buy.

The Prodegy was top rated. Most expensive as well. Another brand was co-llisted as top rated as well, but I don not recall the brand. Look on TruckTrend.com.

Thumbs up Prodigy brake controller

I ordered my controller on-line from some dealer in Texas. It came with a harness that simply plugged into the factory harness and then into the back of the controller. Took all of 10 minutes to install. A real "plug & play" setup!

Angry Re: Prodigy Brake Controller

I was able to install my Prodigy brake controller, but it doesn't recognize my horse trailer when I connect it to the Titan. All lights work on the horse trailer. The other problem is when I connect the horse trailer and apply the brake pedal to shift into drive, the brakes lockup on the trailer. I have to disconnect the trailer from the Titan to disengage the trailer brakes. Any suggestions as to what is happening?

Re: Prodigy Brake Controller

The trailer lights don't go through the brake controller, so they should work with or without the Prodigy.

You should get a "c" on the Prodigy (for connected)display when you hook your trailer up, otherwise it will show a "nc"...if you don't get that, check your harness hookup...I had to contact the Prodigy people to get the wiring connections from the Titan to the Prodigy...let me know if you need these.

Sounds like your trailer is getting the signal to apply the brakes, just not let go...so it might be a wiring issue, but I'm no expert...

Re: Prodigy Brake Controller

Took my Titan and horse trailer to the Nissan Dealership and the certified master technician found the problem. The wire to the trailer's breakaway switch was not connected. Someone had stolen the battery when it was parked at the horse stables several years ago, and I don't know if the wire was pulled loose at that time or when. Something else was missing with the breakaway switch, so he has bypassed it for the time being. Once he connected the wire, everything worked fine. Now I just have to buy a new battery for the breakaway switch and have him wire it back.
