Locking Gas Cap - Great Service

I ordered a locking gas cap from COURTESY NISSAN in Richardson, Texas ($16.95 I think it was) on Saturday via the Internet and tonight I got a tracking number from them -- shipped. Damned good service. Couldn't find one here in Virginia close by, so I shopped from the laptop.

And no -- I'm not trying to keep a die-hard gas thief out... just the neighborhood toddlers who wander over to my side every now and then. When my son was 2, he decided it would be interesting to see if a toasted cheese sandwich worked in the VCR.

Have fun guys... Jim

I think this is a great idea. It only takes one idiot to discover you have a locking cap. As soon as they do so and walk away, the cap just paid for itself four-fold.

I remember in the 70's gas shortage if you had a locking cap and some idiot was trying to siphon your gas and saw the locking cap, they just crawled under the back with a hammer and punch and put a hole in the tank to get what they wanted. Nice folks.

It must have been pretty bad, then. That seems like an awful lot of work.

They were determined! Why wait an hour in a gas line for 5 gallons of gas when you could just wait until it got dark and then only had to wait 5 minutes to fill a can.
Kind of reminds me of the recent story I heard about a month ago, was it in Maine?
Some guy thought he'd siphon some gas out out a big RV. Well he was in the wrong
tank. He hit on the holding tank instead of the gas tank. Waa hoo..Now there's a trip!!!

Yeah, I remember those days in the '70s. We screamed when the gas price on base went from $0.35 to $0.50 a gallon! Of course, back then I was only maiking around $400 a month too.

Long time ago, in a far far away place.....

I remember when it hit a dollar. Holy Christ.... we thought the world was going to end! Odd numbered license plates, gas lines, wow. Those were the days. But hey... we had disco! And big hair.... and all that crap!

LMAO that would be quite a suprise, especially if he accidentally used his mouth.
