VersaCover Tonneau Covers

For those of you who have been waiting, it's finally here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got this yesterday. Finally somebody got it right!!!!!

FROM: VersaCover Tonneau Covers

RE: Nissan TITAN Cover with UTILI-TRACK– DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

Thank you for your recent interest in our tonneau cover for your Nissan TITAN Crew Cab! For those of you who own the Nissan TITAN Crew Cab WITH the Utili-Track (5.5 Ft. Bed), we have some good news for you. We now have this cover available for your truck and a really cool hardware kit that has been developed specifically for this truck that bolts directly into your Utili-Track! To CONFIRM - This new cover is our NEW Model #5010–UT and it will fit the 2004 and 2005 Nissan TITAN Crew Cab (4 Full Doors) WITH the Utili-Track. This cover has all the same great looks and lines and all the same great features like all of our covers, with one exception: The installation hardware bolts directly into the Utili-Track! As a result, this cover is a completely “Drill-Less” installation. As promised, you are now among the first customers to be notified that this cover is now available for your truck.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Model #5010-UT:

Question: “How much of my Utili-Track is taken up by the cover hardware?”

Answer: Precious little space will be taken up by the hardware. A total 5 1/2 inches out of each side Utili-Track rail will be taken up by the hardware (out of about 60 inches of track along the sides...5 1/2 inches is not very much!).

In the case of this Utili-Track Specific Hardware, nothing is installed on the front Utili-Track rail. Instead, all hardware is installed on the side rails. On EACH Side Rail, you will have 3 pieces of hardware to install directly into the Utili-Track as follows:

Location Bracket

Front Corner - Front Bracket – this bracket takes up the first 4 inches of Utili-Track.

Center - Ball Stud – Where the Hydraulic Strut arm attaches – This bracket is only 1 1/2 inch wide.

Rear Corner - Rear Bracket – No additional Utili-Track Space is taken! This requires an explanation, so here goes:

The rearmost bracket takes up no additional usable space on the Utili-Track. A good thing to remember is that the rear bracket has 2 clamping (attachment) points. The front edge of the rear bracket takes the place of the square metal stop that is currently on your Utili-Track (remember...this is the front edge of the bracket). The rear edge of the bracket comes towards the back edge of the truck, bends around the back open edge of the Utili-Track, and then bends again and flattens out to fit flush against the vertical edge of the inside side rail. The back part of this bracket lays flat against the inside lip of the side rail that is between the tailgate and the back edge of the Utili-Track (this is the same vertical edge of the inside side rail lip that is covered by the Nissan plastic rail cover). The front edge of the bracket takes exactly the same space as the square metal stop, which is secured in this last inch of Utili-Track (taking the place of the stop). The rear part of the bracket is clamped to the inside side rail with one of our standard inverted “C” clamps to ensure that the back edge of this bracket is securely fastened. This creative design ensures that no additional usable space is taken from the Utili-Track.

Question: “Will I be able to use my bed extender?”

Answer: ABSOLUTELY! As no additional Utili-Track is taken at the rearmost part of the track, you will be able to pull your bed extender all the way to the back as before and extend to the edge of the tailgate as before as the hardware does not interfere with the use of the bed extender whatsoever!

Question: “What is the price of this cover?”

Answer: The price of the cover for the Nissan TITAN Crew Cab with UTILI-TRACK and the 5.5 Ft. Bed (Model # 5010-UT) is $679.00 plus shipping. As you might imagine, the box the cover ships in is too big to ship by UPS, so we have to ship the cover to you via motor freight. The most economical way to get the cover to you by freight is to deliver the cover to any commercial address or freight terminal near you for the our promotional shipping rate of only $58.00! The freight company charges $49.00 extra to deliver the cover to a residence, so if possible...it's always best to use a commercial address. This is a great deal on shipping to any business address in the U.S. for only $58.00 (it actually costs us somewhere between $115-$150 per cover to ship one piece by freight, depending on location).

Don't have a convenient commercial address to ship the tonneau cover to? You may live near a convenient freight terminal with one of the shippers we have delivery contracts with. To ship our covers, we currently use Overnite and Watkins Motor Lines where their terminal can become the freight shipping termination point and serve as your "commercial address! If this is the case, all you do is have the cover shipped to the terminal address closest to you. Once the cover arrives, that freight terminal will contact you to arrange for you to pick up the cover. To find your nearest Overnite Freight Terminal, click here. These links show the terminal locations and addresses. To find your nearest Watkins Motor Lines Terminal go to: http://www.watkins.com/Coverage/default.asp. Simply write down the address of the terminal nearest you, and when placing your order either online or over the phone, when asked for your "Shipping Address," simply put the Freight Company Name (Overnite Freight or Watkins Motor Lines), and that specific terminal's address as your "shipping address" and you will be able to qualify for the promotional $58.00 shipping charge!

PLEASE NOTE: The Utili-Track specific hardware ships at the same time as the cover, but does not ship on board with the cover. This hardware package ships in a separate package and is shipped by UPS, while the cover itself is shipped by freight carrier. Both packages will ship at the same time, so they should both arrive at approximately the same time.

Question: “If I order now...when will my cover ship?”

Answer: We are planning to ship these covers along with the Utili-Track Hardware Kit within 2 business days from the day you order.

Question: What is the delivery time?

Answer: Depending on what part of the country you live in....it typically takes 3-5 days transit time to ship the cover to you.

Question: “I have the cover already and just want the Hardware Kit...what is the price?”

Answer: $79.99 + $8.00 Shipping and Handling. Item # for the Hardware Kit alone is: RSPT1360IK. We have not set up the ability to purchase “the hardware kit only” online. If you wish to purchase this kit, please phone in your order at 1-888-377-2268.

Demand for this cover to fit the Nissan TITAN Crew Cab with the Utili-Track has been overwhelming so please get your orders in early. New orders for this cover are scheduled to ship out within the next few days. The Model #5010-UT has just been added to the website or by going straight to the “Purchase” link at:

http://www.versacover.com/purchase

You can order your cover at anytime (day or night), or by calling our toll free number below from 9AM to 6PM Monday through Friday.

We sincerely appreciate your interest and your patience. We are very confident that your patience will be well rewarded as we are confident that you will feel that the cover and the Utili-Track installation kit was well worth the wait! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email or call at anytime.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Regards,

Mark Kidder

I too have been in contact with Mark, but I'm not interested in the Undercover for the CC as I have a KC on order. However it is this quality and thought they seem to have put into their cover design as it relates to the Utlity Trac system that has me waiting. Mark has promised to tell me when the Undercover is ready to go for the KC.

Due to much lower expected sales for the TITAN King Cab (Ext. Cab), the development of the Ext. Cab cover itself has been pushed back until “summer 2005” according to the current development schedule.

Regards,
Mark

I just emailed Mark again and asked him if this new attachment design would be used on the KC version, and here is his reply...

Subject: RE: MARK- New Question

Sure will...the cover size is the only thing that will change to accommodate the larger bed of the King Cab.

Thanks again,
Mark

Sorry but I don't have the cover installed yet. I just wanted to pass along the info because I know some Titan owners have been waiting for this announcement. Try going to the web site to see if they have pics. I believe that is where Dallas got that pic of the white SE, unless that actually is his Titan.

Different strokes for different folks. I think the ones matched to the body color look sort of dorky...

just so you know, retrax also makes a roll up cover that will work on the titan with the utilitrac. Cost was a little more but I liked the idea that I could roll it anytime I wanted to with having to store the top somewhere when i wanbted to hausl some tall cargo. Cost was 870.00 and they threw in a free electric cover lock. www.truckcovers.net ask for gary.

Thanks for this info!!! Is a chunk of change but it is what I had in mind when I bought the truck. I like the utilitrak and did not want to lose it's function. I mainly want a weather resistant area that is securable for when I haul the family and my dogs up to VT.
