Titan Horn Upgrade

Anyone upgraded the wimpy horn on the Titan to something that will blast the 55mph-latte-cell phone soccer moms out of the left lane?

My brother installed an air horn on his little toyota pickup. That was the featured item when it came time to sell.

That thing was freakin' loud...

I have an elelctric air horn amp I got at Galls a few years ago and I've been looking for the right speaker. I think this is it: http://www.copwheels.com/catalog/item/842038/573817.htm

What you can do for cheap is find a siren controller on ebay and just use the airhorn selector - this is legal. In fact, I'd cut the siren wires to reduce temptation.

I have three other speakers but its was real hard finding a way to mount them. the titan seems roomy but its not. the one above will go high in the lower air intake and mount to the cross bar. it will set next to the fan in the grill.

the amp has to be in the cab and the power wires run out to it. The sound is "fire truck on a rampage." I used to have it on my '96 caprice and it was always a load of fun any time the cops or a fire truck was around. I would always join in the racket to the max and no could tell where the noise was coming from what with all the other commotion.

Once, I was staying in a motel and my car was parked out in front of the window of my room. some jackass kid came out and was bouncing a basketball. this caused my alarm to belch. he jumped and the came back to test it. He couldn't see me behind the darkened window of the motel room. when he got close I hit the airhorn button on my remote. It actually blew his hair back like he was in a wind. His ma yelled and he scamped back to his room. A little later he came out to do an errand and had to walk by. He edged by with his back to the wall and I hit the horn again. He dropped a load and ran. Later when the came back he was behind the car about 50 feet and I hit it again. His old lady really laid into him then. she was louder than the horn. Oh them were the days - I yearn for the big horn bullying that waits for me in the future....

A big horn is a must for this truck!

Imagine this on your titan...

Hornblasters video

Anyone thought of mounting airhorns in place of the fog light inserts?...hmmm....I wonder if they would fit.

Awesome! Although I am more into the firetruck sound than the train sound.

That is hilarious! I wish I could do that to some of my teenagers at school.

This is almost exactly the setup I have in my truck. Works great and definately makes people sit up and take notice when I want them to get out of my way.

I mounted the "controller" in the center console so I could switch it to PA Speaker or when I want to play the stereo outside during a tailgate party. It came with a microphone and the wiring harness that attaches to the stereo system.

I use my horn so much in traffic that I think that I am going to break my steering wheel one of these days. I don't know what it is, but ever since I got the Titan, I see a lot more ignorance on the road.

thanks for all the responses, i think i'm not alone in feeling the horn needs to be upgraded...... it would be nice if there was a simple upgrade kit that even a dummy like me could install. i think the locomotive sound would be my first choice, but the fire engine has some appeal also. both would surely, put that latte/cell phone in the lap of the turtle left lane'rs.

I love all the suggestions here! I actually thought the Titan horn was quite manly. You should have heard the pathetic tweep my old Tundra made when you hit the horn.
