Parts prices comparison vs. Domestics

Has anyone noticed prices for Nissan Titan parts versus one of the domestic truck makers?

Why I ask: I have an Isuzu Trooper and all of the parts seem expensive--almost twice as much as....say a Ford Ranger. In fact, my brother had an Isuzu Rodeo and got rid of it because it was killing him on part prices.

I currently do not own a Titan, but am looking seriously at purchasing one. I don't think the prices on parts will be a significant factor in purchasing the vehicle, but am just curious to see how they relate to the Big "3" prices. Thanks,

Chris

Yeah, but you need twice as many Ford parts.

The best prices on Nissan parts are coming from internet sales. Your cost will be set by your local dealer to some extent. The prices at my local Mossy Nissan are disgusting. My only advice is to become an educated consumer.

3 yr 36000 bumper to bumber and 5yr 60000 mile powertrain. Im not worried about parts cost for a long time.

My last Nissan went 10+ yrd and nearly 200,000 miles with only one visit to the shop and it was covered under warranty.

My Chevy C1500 had more problems in its first year than my Nissan did in over 10yrs.

I've had quite a few Nissans in my family. That said, I can't really comment on prices for mechanical parts- since I haven't had to replace any, with a few hundred thousand total miles between the cars. But I've been very pleased with the prices of wear and tear/ damage repair items, like interrior and exterrior trim. Many times I thought, "that cant be right, it sounds low" when I had or order something. Most of the "specialty" items that most makes charge and arm and a leg for, Nissan is very fair with. On the Titan for example, a few people have damaged the front bumper covers- and found they were less then $40 to replace. Some people have added the lower air dam from an Armada- for under $20. Nissans tend to be very reliable, and not need much in the way of mechanical parts. And everything else is so cheap that it's easy to keep them looking good.
