Questions re: Fog lights on an SE ...

I got the KC SE this weekend and want to get the exact fog lights that come on the LE's. Some questions:

Can I get either factory fog lights or is there an aftermarket set that looks essentially identical? I want them to look stock.

I've never turned on the factory fog lights in an LE, but it looks like the switch is located in the turn signal stalk - True? If so, if I install aftermarket fogs, will I use that same switch location or do you normally mount it on the dash somewhere?

Thanks!

Hey DrPeeb, I have an '04 KC XE that did not come with fog lamps. You can purchase the Nissan ones from one of the Nissan parts dealers that advertise on this site. Install is a breeze - basically plug and play. You should see some pigtails just under/inside the lower front bumper where the fog lamps mount. You just pull out the black grilles with some needle nose pliers and pop in the fog lamps, secure one nut, plug in the wiring harness and that is it for the exterior. The Nissan fog lamps come with a replacement turn signal stalk with the fog lamp switch built in. You just remove the steering wheel shaft cover, pop out the old one, pop in the new one, and replace the steering wheel shaft cover. There are some better explanations/pics if you do a search. The Nissan fog lamp kits can also be had on ebay. Should run you well under $200. out.

According to Courtesy Parts' website, they won't work on 2005 SE 4x2s. I assumed that would be because they aren't pre-wired for foglights. Is that not the case? Did you have any problems?

Thanks
Todd

I called and talked to them ,they said alot of the 2005 se's didn't come prewired and they had alot of issues with that , he didn't say kc or cc but told me to check my truck just to be sure its prewired and it was, so to be sure i would just check to see that you have the harness taped up behind the foglight cover areas under the bumper then you are good to go

Hey Drpeeb, don't take out the grill inserts until you are ready to put in the fogs. You can just look under the bumper to see if you have the pre-wired harnesses!!! Look on each side behind the fog lamp cutouts. out.
