Tent - Dealer option vs. Sportz Truck Tent III

Has anyone purchased the dealer tent option for the crew cab version of the Titan? I am debating on either going with the one provided by the dealer or aftermarket "Sportz Truck Tent III". I simply want the better fitting one not sacrificing quality. Thanks.

If this helps, Nissan's Tonneau cover sucks. Didn't fit right, had all kinds of holes. I wouldn't expect much more from their tent.

Have a good one.

Have you ever had a truck tent before? I am very intrigued by the concept (dry, clean, critter free sleeping) but it seems like you'd have to break camp to go for a ride in the truck. Are they really quick and easy to take down and put up?

Aggie is right, 4 Boy Scout Adult Leaders were electrocuted this past week at the Boy Scout Jamborree. They were pitching a tent when their tent poles came into contact with overhead power lines at a U.S. Army base in VA. Very tragic. Keep your head up.

My younger brother is at the Jamboree right now. I am an eagle scout but never went to one. Also 300 of the kids were taken to hospitals for heat exhaustion after standing out in the field waiting for Bush to speak. He never showed up.

I have the original sportz truck tent which was designed for the 6 foot bed. I originally used it on a tacoma. I have a Titan CC now and the last two poles hang over the edge of the bed which makes getting into the tent a little tricky. If you get the STT II or III the canopy supports may help keep the opening larger assuming you have a CC and not a KC. With the KC you should have no prob. Just make sure you use an air mattress or pad. Installation is down to 5 minutes once you get the hang of it, less with assistance. If you have a shell I would suggest the SUV tent. I have had that as well. You can pull away and leave the tent and just back up to it again when you return.

Thanks for the responses. I actually just returned from my trip to Sequoia National and am happy to announce that I went with the dealer tent. I was going to go with the SportzTruck III tent but did not have access to the bed power outlet from the inside. The dealer option is completly custom buitl specificly for the Titan...so it seems. THe quality of the tent is great and to my surprise did inlcude a 6x6 ft. awning...just like the aftermarket ones. Setting up the tent 1st time around can be tricky...but after figuring it out...setting up is less than 10 minutes. Take down is just as easy.
