Armada-to-Titan Spoiler Mod Redux: Step-by-Step W/Photos
Here's an easy mod that takes less than a half hour which was alluded to recently in this thread right here . With a few wrenches and some screws, washers, and bolts, your Titan will be one (very) small step closer to aerodynamic perfection. 4X4 fans, beware, however, because I'm not sure if this spoiler will fit over your skid plate. But if you're a wanna-be Road Warrior like me, then this little bad boy does the trick. On a scale of one to ten, with ten being the hardest, I'd say this mod is about a 1.5.
Don't expect a box for $26.77. Here it is on my floor wrapped up in fancy plastic.
Here's where I needed to go to the garage to get my first tool: scissors to cut open that plastic.
The spoiler has a series of indentations (13 total) for you to insert your recessed screws, washers, and bolts. I went to the hardware store and got myself some metric M6 x 30 (30 mm) screws with hex caps. I would suggest getting some M6 washers that are a little wider because those indentations can fit much bigger bolts.
Heres a shot of the holes in the Titan bumper. The Armada spoiler fits in there like a charm because her sister vehicle the Titan is genetically pretty much the same thing.
You can see here that there is a piece protruding upward from the spoiler. This is plastic and there are a total of three of them that are designed to keep the spoiler in place while you fasten the screws. One of mine broke off--probably shipping damage-- during installation but once the screws are in they serve no practical use. I used M6 30MM screws but one could actually go with a 20MM screw since mine were a bit long. However, the 10MM screws were way too small so anything between 20MM and 30MM is just about right. Sorry about the metric, but that's what I happened to hear fits and also I went to grade school when Jimmy Carter was President (I thought I'd mention the Carter thing since the spoiler shipped from Georgia--but I promise not to make any puns about using nuts to fasten the spoiler to my truck ). Anyhow, I used a screw, a large washer on the inside and outside and a nylon bold for each hole going into the bumper. A small 10MM socket wrench was used to fasten the screws.
The extreme outside holes have this kind of metal clip that you can take off by gently pulling. There are 11 holes not including these outside two. I took off these clips and fastened them like the others.
All done!
Now all I have to do is get one of these guys to ride around on my front bumper and I'll be ready to give Mel Gibson and Mad Max a run for his money!
Hey Markinho,
Did the same to mine yesterday. Followed the same procedure as you only I pitched those clips in the can and bolted the corners. Actually, I used machine screws, flat washers, lock washers & nuts. Took about 1/2 hour & it looks great. Just to show you how parts guys can be: he didn't know the spoiler for an Armada would fit a Titan. I think they need to bone up a little. Mine was the same price only had to pay tax.

There are some other Armada-to-Titan mods out there; for instance, one guy has done some cool interior stuff from an Armada while someone else used the Armada's roof racks and retrofitted them to fit his Titan.
I wanted to post this mostly for fun--after all, this mod isn't new nor is it particularly difficult--but I hope that it generates some interest in looking at the Titan's sister vehicle(s) from Nissan and Infinityf to see what we can do to make our Titans even better.
Oh yeah, I bolted those corners, too. I dunno what those clips were for, anyway.
Some others from the Armada spoiler thread mentioned how, after they added the spoiler to their Titans, a Titan without the spoiler somehow doesn't look right. I am inclined to agree, unless of course you've got an off-road Titan: no spoiler needed there.
You don't need to have those speed clips, any nut and bolt that fit works well enough.

Im not very "performance knowledgeable" what does this do for the Titan ?
At least 5 HP. 7 HP if you use hollow titanium bolts. Just kidding. Just for looks. Some claim better aerodynamics for better gas mileage, but I did it for looks.
i can take some of mine, i also have a smoked titan but im going to have mine paint matched when i get my roll pan painted. and at the ends instead of speed clips i used thick black zip ties.
Well I just ordered a spoiler for mine. The wife doesn't need to know about a $35 purchase does she? I wonder how long it will take her to notice it after I install it?

Answer: If she is like the other 99% of the women population....she will never notice until you tell her. I know my wife wouldn't have noticed if I didn't tell her.
Just got mine delivered today UPS. I am thinking of spraying mine Black before I install it though.

Just like men don't notice when a woman gets her hair cut.
I guess it's all relative to what you are looking at...
My wife wouldn't notice if I painted the truck a different color or if I put new wheels on the truck as long as I didn't let her know that I was spending the $$$.
