Question Question about Truxedo Tonneau Cover

Truxedo seems to be highly regarded, reading over these threads. Many comments on ease of use and ease of installation, but the tie down cleats need to be on before installation, and the tie down cleats have some limited sliding range.

So my question is, if the Truxedo is easy to install, wouldn't it be very easy to uninstall if you wanted/needed a free range of tie-down cleat operation. Anything permanent in the installation, gluing, taping? Anything that would make uninstalling a hassle?

Easy to install for a tonneau means 15-30 minutes with hand tools. No permanent modifications are necessary. However when you're loading something and then realize you need the tie-down cleat to go all the way down (although I never forsee this being a reality), you may not have 15-30 minutes to spare. But yea you can remove it in the same time as installation.

truxedo mod

I have a lo-pro truxedo cover & the utiltrac option also.Simple fix was to
replace center clamp with self tap sheet metal screws where the rail meets the bed.Cleats cannot be installed using the "90 degree Twist" method.I simply filed a 1 inch wide access section in the top of the utilitrac rail so I can "roll" the cleat in instead of twist.Full range of cleats arwe retained.Hope this helps!

Thanks Guys! I will be going with the Truxedo if I can get a good as deal as others have stated they received from Truckmod.

This is a great site, and adds value to buying a Titan!

Initial TruXedo installation may take a few minutes...just to get oriented. I take mine off all the time for Overhead Rack installation when I carry my canoe. The TruXedo comes off in only a couple minutes tops. (and I have tap screws instead of clamps on the very end so I can use my Bed Extender with the cover on.

It don't get any easier than this. those rails pop right off when you need to.
