Install Utilitrack

Would it be possible to buy the utilitracks (either new or off another Titan or junkyard Titan), get the bed spray lined, and install the utilitracks? I really wish now that I had gotten the utility bed package and I hate how the bedliner kind of knocks around when going over bumps. You can only hear it if the rear window is open but its still annoying. So are all the Titan beds the same? Like do they have predrilled holes and slots for the utilitrack rails?

Also what is the best brand of spray in liner to get? I don't want something that will scrape off or bubble. I knew someone who had his bed lined and it scraped off easily from just puting bikes in the back.

I think there are some bed attachment point reinforcements associated with the utilitrack on the utility bed package that you may not have without the package.

You might check this out:

Thumbs up

YES YOU CAN INSTALL THE UTILITRAK IN A NON BUILT BED, THE FRONT AND REAR INSERTS ARE UNDER THE FIRST LAYER OF SHEET METAL. WHEN YOU PUT THE TRAK IN TO DRILL HE HOLES PUSH IT UP TIGHT TO THE LIP OF THE BED AND ALL THE WAY TO FRONT AND REAR I HIT BOTH SETS OF HOLES, THEN YOU NEED A INSERT TOOL TO USE NUTSERTS OR RIVNUTS TO HOLD THE MIDDLE. I HAVE INSTALLED THE TRAK IN MY 05 CC WORKS GREAT EVEN THE DEALER WAS SURPRISED I DID IT.

I'd pay the extra $$ and go with either Rhino liner or Line-X. The both seem bulletproof. I've been hearing from other truck guys that the Line-X is the way to go. Check out their websites.

Thanks! Where did you get the utilitracks? Dealer? How much were they and how much does it usually run to get a full size bed Line-X'd?

Dealer prices vary. You're looking at around $425; I'm a little less, some are a little more.

Line-X baby...

Rhino I think, when it was the only one, was awesome.

Here are some cool facts I discovered when researching which spray in liner to buy.

*Line-X has a contract w/ the Navy to surface spray the walking surfaces of their subs to have a non-slip surface area. Prior to line-x they would have to repaint it w/ anti-skid paint every six months b/c the salt water would eat up the paint. The first line-x'd sub is still running w/ its original spray and it's been on for 3 years.

*Line-X has a contract w/ the defense department to assist in the rebuilding of the Pentagon. It turns out that enough coats and thick enough coats makes the Pentagon bomb proof. It's like a layering of brick, Line-x, etc over and over.

When I heard the last one - that did it for me. If this stuff can be bomb broof, well then it's good enough for the mulch, bricks, lumber, and whatever crap I haul !!

The set up takes the longest, ie. taping off the bed, removal of hardware, etc. the spray actually dries like in 3 seconds. Make sure you like and trust the person spraying. They went thicker on mine and I thanked them for it. Also in regards to the screw holes. The line-x actually shrinks around any new holes to create an almost water proof hold. Very cool stuff !!

I like the Line-X better also. I saw a Rhino lined truck and it looked really ugly. The Line-X seems like its the same as the factory spray in liner.

Hey vector6, do you mean the Jordan's BP or is there another Jordans auto parts?

i will see if i can find the part numbers today and post them. if you get the tracks you will also need the tie down cleats find some on this board the dealers charge 50.00 each. i put in the factory tool box on the rails and 4 tie down cleats. tool box not cheap but i like it since you can roll it to the rear of the bed to get stuff out.

How "not cheap" did you find the factory tool box? I looked at Courtesy Parts and it was like $530.00 plus quite a bit of shipping charges. Since I already have a cap, I ended up buying a plastic box for $45.00 and $500 worth of tools.

Hello All
To Answer Questions
1. Tool Box About 425.00 I Know A Lot Of Money But Being Able To Roll The Box Out In Under 1 Minute Is A Big Plus For Me As I Go From Tool Box To Welder Back To Tool Box And To Large Objects That Won't Fit With The Tool Box In.
2. Track Part Numbers 999t7-wq700
You Will Need 4 Pcs Of Rail Depending On Your Truck Bed At 45.00 Ea
Is What I Paid There Is Also A Front Rail I Could Not Find A Pn For.
You Will Also Need A Tool To Install Some Kind Of Rivit Nut 8mm X 1.25 If I Remember Correctly.
We Had The Tool In The Shop The Nuts Were About 10.00 For 20 Pcs
I Think The Tool Is About 50.00 If You Could Get Several People It Would Be Worth It To Buy Unless You Can Borrow One
Regards
Chipmaster
Ps Front Holes Are In The Bed Also As Well As The 2 On Each End Or They Were On My Truck
