I just checked w/ a local dealer to see what it would cost for the Sirius tuner and the installation. They quoted me $570 plus tax. Does that seem about right? Does anybody think it's worth it, or is it better to go aftermarket?
Here is my install. $50 for the receiver and $5 for the mini to mini cable. The only problem is to operate the remote control you have to lift it up to hit the IR port on the receiver because the front edge of the dash is in the way.

I don't know what stereo you have. Assuming you already have the pre-wire cable, the antenna + OEM tuner is $355.00 here:
You can roof mount the antenna through the third brake light, I think it takes a deep 7 mm socket.
As far as OEM v. aftermarket, you have to decide if the integration (mainly steering wheel controls and not having to wire through the AUX jack) is worth the extra $. Another factor, I think the aftermarket units may have better displays than the OEM.
Another thing to consider is the antenna. The new SIGMA (Sirius Inside Glass Mount Antenna) is proprietary to Nissan and Toyota receivers. The plugs on the antenna's splitter may not be compatible with other brands of receivers. You won't find it at Crutchfield or Best Buy.
If you've got no problem with a roof mount antenna, then aftermarket offers many receiver options. The install that usulsuspct did (post #5) is awesome!
Jamie at TitanParts247.com offers the receiver/SIGMA/brackets for about the same as grubbs.
If you install the receiver yourself, you don't need the brackets (about $13) - mount the receiver on the knee bolster, just below the steering column. One of our members posted several pics of this - search on "sirius" or "sat radio" to find them. The brackets are for sandwiching the receiver in between the RF amp and body control module way up on the firewall, above the accelerator. I studied that arrangement for about eight seconds, threw my brackets in the trash, and put the receiver on the bolster. I can see how a dealer's labor charge would be high, just for this reason.
I really enjoy having Sirius. I've never heard XM, or looked closely at a program guide.
Either way, you won't regret it.

DONT waster your money on the stock. Look at some people's installs on here and figure for yourself. I personally think usulsuspct's is the best I have seen.
I am getting this one and it comes with everything you need in the kit for $150. Forgot to mention that usulsuspct
msp2928 - If you look at the ceiling near your back window in the center you will see 2 round gray caps. Pop those out and you will a 7mm nut on each side. You will need a deeeep 7mm socket to remove. Then you can pop out the 3rd brake light. Then it is just a matter of routing the SAT antenna wire from the dash back to that opening. Not too hard. There have been multiple postings on this subject - just do a search. I would hook you up with a link but I am not sure how to do that??? I installed my Nissan Sirius box and Terk Mini antenna myself with very little difficulty. David.

the OEM unit is nice for control, but I have one permantly installed in my jetta. The truck is a plug and play that I can use in the house too. I got a bracket (that needed just a little modification to fit. that mounted it right next to the radio controls on the passanger side. I routed the wires neatly and use the cig port on the passanger side. Its clean and I didnt have to beat up the interior which was my goal with my trucks.
