Door handle replacement, HOW?

I bought some chrome door handles and chrome caps for the mirrors. I got the mirror swap lick, but the handles is a whole different story. Did anyone out there in the TITAN world tackle this before, especially the XE owners? I ordered them from "everythinginfiniti.com" and got a good deal on them.

I replaced mine. First step is to type in "door handle" in the search box.

Anyways. Inside the door just behind the handle is a small round vinyl sticker. Pull it off and loosen the screw inside, it's held in place, so don't take it out or pull on it. That will loosen the escutcheon. Pull it out. Then slide the handle to the rear of the truck and pull it out. Installation is in reverse order.

After reading my post, I wasn't too clear. No, don't take the door panel off. The screw is on the side/inside of the door, above the latch mechanism. The scew is at the same level as the door handle.

Damn, I have to be smarter than the door. Thanks, I went out to look at what you were talking about and I saw it AND I found the thread that talks about the handle removal. Thanks for your help!

How much did you get your handles for? I am really wanting to to this too, but I am still holding out for some SE LE owner that wants to trade... wishful thinking I am sure. Need to get out the wallet I supose, so what kind of $?

Here's one place you can get them. They are actually pretty inexpensive.

Re: Door handle replacement, HOW?

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but my new post isnt getting the attention I wanted, I should have searched before...

Those of you subscribed to this thread that have done this, can I purchase one of the 3 other escutcheon covers and replace/cover my key hole on the drivers door?

My truck had an attempted break-in, in the process they mangled the tumbler beyond repair. I'd rather buy an escutcheon w/o the hole and try to forget about it...

Thanks!

Re: Door handle replacement, HOW?

Well, with the instructions above and some trial and error, it will work...

Trial - it will work, but you have to skin off a little bit of plastic on the inside of the cover...

Error - didnt shave any at first, cracked the clip piece...

Error 2 - shaved off too much, made it loose, not a tight fit...

Now I get to buy two, lol...
