On my girlfriend's '05 maxima, the pillars between the front and back side windows is a glossy black piece. Ever since I got my titan I have wished that it was made the same way. Instead Nissan decided to put that dull black material, which to me, doesn't look like it belongs. Everything else on the truck is shiny. (except the step rails). The pillars on the doors should be too.
Has anyone seen any black covers for these? I have seen the chrome and carbon fiber--not interested. Does anyone have the capability to make something like this?
Surely, I'm not the only one who has noticed this. They stick out like a soar (dull) thumb.
I've sent a PM to Jason @ ******* industries, but I don't know if he makes a black pillar cover. Does anyone else know of anyone that might make something like this?
I waxed mine....there was some little plastic specks from the protective transport cover on my truck...I decided to just wax it and it removed the specks.....but it made the black covers shiny...so I had to wax them top to bottom....still shiny after 12 months.
I peeled them off and it ripped, so i took all of them down.

I peeled them off and repainted them, which I think looks best IMO
What purpose does the black tape serve, I pulled it a little from the back side and it seems it would come off rather easily. I take it from a couple of the posts that it is not painted under the tape, could somebody please confirm this before I attempt to remove it. Thanks

When I peeled the tape off the paint was scuffed so it would stick better, and scratched too deep to be wetsanded and buffed......
